FRIDAY -- FUN WITH FLYNN

What fun to drop by to see Eric and Flynn and find Flynn hard at work on his computer... and looking at Zoolatry no less! We wonder if he was about to post a comment... or perhaps he was thinking about auditioning for CCSI II over at Sassy Tales... or maybe, just maybe, he was waiting for Eric to find the crayons do they could do some coloring!

Zoey is "off" today, busy with rehearsals, as Rudolph, for the upcoming CCSI II.

Maggy is considering joining Mom for the holidays; you will see where Mom
is spending the next month, if you check us out on Saturday, December 1.

WELCOMING COCO

Many of you may recognize this beautiful mosaic cat, she is CoCo and she graces the banner of the Mosaic Cats. Last summer when we first began Zoolatry and were introduced to the Mosaic Cats family, we fell in love with her. A few months later we learned she was "available" and asked our children and grandchildren to gift her to us on our birthday and they were good enough to do so. She is a very special gift.
So, CoCo has moved, from the land of pine trees and mountains and soft snowfalls to the palm trees, beaches and sunshine -- of Cocoa. Maggy and Zoey both admire and welcome her. Mom is happy.
Even though she has a new furrever home (as they say in the CB), she'll aways be part of the Mosaic Cats family. We thank her Mosaic Lady for the extraordinary and beautiful work she does with Pique Assiette. My photographs do not do justice to CoCo... all the fine detail and color, shapes and material textures reflect morning sunlight and evening lamplight -- casting delicate colors and shadows against the foyer wall. Mosaic Lady is very talented, you can see her work at LWD . You might just fall in love with it too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TO MY MAGGY

Beautiful Maggy
is four years old today. She is a bit to shy and reserved to hold a party, but if I were to write a few words about her, this is what I would say. Happy Birthday, my Maggy.
B is for Beautiful, which she is.

E is for Elegant, yes, that's my Maggy.
A is for Ann (me), who loves her very much.
U is for Understanding. She is not...when it comes to Zoey.
T is for Talker. Yes, tho shy, Maggy is quite the talker.
I is for Intelligent, Maggy is a very intelligent kitty.
F is for Friendly, which she is - some of the time.
U is for Ubiquitous, which she is, when she's not hiding.
L is for Loving, which she can be when she wants to.

M is for Magnificent and Majestic, she is both.
A is for Mr. A, her Dad, who is the treat-giver and cuddler.
G is for Great Grandma, whose bed is soft and quiet to share.
G is for the Grandies, she loves them, but hides when they visit.
Y is for You, thank you for sharing my birthday.

Fate, or coincidence? Sweet Karen Jo, at Kitty Limericks posted a limerick for Maggy... today, of all days. What a nice birthday gift.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

BE THANKFUL ON THIS DAY, AND EVERY DAY THAT FOLLOWS.

I am thankful that my dear husband has recovered so well from his heart surgery and is in good health and will be there to share my life for many years to come.

I am thankful for my own life and its fullness and joy.

I am thankful for my two extraordinary children, and their life partners, all have added immeasurably to my life.

I am thankful for my two beautiful grandchildren, they touch my heart in so many ways, and there are few words to describe the love I feel for them.

I am thankful for my Mom, who lives with me, and thankful to God who gives me the time and energy and strength to give her the care she needs and deserves. And thankful for my wonderful Dad who is no longer with us.

I am thankful for Maggy and Zoey, who bring laughter and warmth to our home. And I am thankful for the others who came before them...

I am thankful for family and friends too numerous to name.

I am thankful for the small measure of talent or imagination that God gave to me, which allows me to share my visions of the Wonderful World of Cats around the cat blogosphere. Getting to know them, and their families has added greatly to my life.

Happy Thanksgiving from the human element at Zoolatry.

ZOEY'S BOX OF LIFE: KEEP OUT

Being Zoey, being the silly little girl that I am, my Box of Life is not at all serious.
And notice, it has a golden key which I keep well hidden from Maggy,
and a sign which is intended for Maggy.
If I opened my Box of Life for you, here's what you would find:
1. All my whiffle balls, and the new toys that came from Perfectly Parker.
2. My food dish, and Maggy's food dish, cause I like to steal her munchies
when she's not looking.
3. The FAX machine and the HP printer and the Copy machine, cause I can hear them start to rumble from anywhere in the house (I even keep one ear open!) and I run to collect the papers they spew forth. I LOVE paper.
4. The trash cans and GreatGrandma's many Kleenex boxes.
Why? I LOVE paper!
5. All the names and things I hear the beans say,
like ZoZo and Zoster and LittleBit and "Oh, No!"
6. Naturally it also has my dental floss (catnip flavored) and tooth(one tooth)brush.
7. GreatGrandma's toys which are extra special fun like the wheelchair and the walker and especially all that squiggly tubing that trails along behind the oxygen tank.
8. GreatGrandma's many bells: cause they all sound different and ring all over the house.
9. All of mom's flowers and plants which are wonderful for chomping and chewing.
10. The many special toys on dad's desk like pens and pencils (and MORE paper) which I frequently steal to add to my Box.
And my Box of Life has quite a few other treasures I can't tell you about. It's a secret.
And I am going to tag Annie at Mosaic Cats because I am wondering what she might put in her special Box of Life... especially when she has a room full of boxes
and could fill hundreds of them.
And I am going to tag Seaborne at the Taylor Catsssss because I am quite curious about what (other than Tatum) he would keep in his Box of Life.

TINY TUESDAY

PROUD TO BE "PINK LADIES"

When they go out Maggy wears her pink hat, Zoey wears her pink hair ribbon.

Clockwise from top left: They count pink sheep and wear furry pink slippers, take their personal calls on the pink phone and wake up when the pink clock rings.

Sometimes they go out and about on their pink bikes, or the pink motorcycle, and for really big fun, they zoom the beaches in their pink convertible.

When they visit the beach, to collect pink seashells and pink flowers, they wear their pink sunglasses and pink flip-flops, and if the sand is really hot, they wear their pink tennies.

When off for a day of shopping in the village, they wear their pink lipstick, and take a little money from the pink piggy bank to put in their pink purses, and they always remember to carry their pink house key.

For really big fun, they'll chase the pink poodles in the neighborhood and scream at the pink flamingos.

Maggy and Zoey are proud to be "Pink Ladies".

COLORING BOOK

The grandbabybeans usually come to visit on a Sunday. We don't think they will come today, cause we will all get together this week on Thursday for something everyone calls Thanksgiving. Mombean has what she calls a "coffee table" (there's never any coffee on it?) in the living room and it has two drawers that are what she calls "the kids drawers" and the drawers have all kinds of colorful treasures in them. The grandbabybeans usually pull out some paper and coloring sticks and make many pictures (hey, they make pictures like mombean makes pictures!). The really little bean takes his coloring sticks and sometimes he colors where he should not color! Oh dear, where's that "magic eraser"? So, mombean has made us into coloring book pictures for the beans, hoping (against hope) that the color sticks go on paper rather than walls! Happy Sunday.

A WARM WELCOME... TO CHASE

WHEN GOD TOUCHED YOUR FACE,
HE LEFT LOVE IN ITS PLACE.

Please visit the Daily Tails of Chase and meet this brave and handsome young kitty, who has a story to tell of courage and love. His burdens have been great -- but now he gives to others as a therapy cat with Paws for Friendship. It is not at all hard to see that the face of Chase is really a heart full of love.

SNUGGLE UP SATURDAY

It's cold here this morning, snuggle up time... my furry wooly fuzzy coat helps! And don't you "cold climate cats from the north" make fun now... 40 degrees is tough on us southerners.

P.S. Zoey is sending a big purr and soft paws to Kitty Limericks for the charming story and limerick posted about her yesterday. Thank You!

November 16, 2007

THANK YOU

Some wonderful kitty friend made this special cake for mom over on the CB... she and dad went to dinner and show... We Ate It! Yummy, better 'n temptations. Thank You!
Some wonderful kitty friends from the CB left lots of sweet wishes for mom here at Zoolatry; and since Zoolatry belongs to "us"... we read all the mail (yes, we can read)... and thank everyone!
Some wonderful kitty friends sent her special g-mail thingies, too, and since we remember her pawsword (she forgot to change it, she gets forgetful with that age thing going on...) we got in there and read all of that, too... and thank you, one and all.
Someone special left mom some beautiful orchids... we can't show them cause she had to put them in the laundry room because "one" of us (guess !)
decided they would be almost as good to eat as the cake.
And there was a little gift bag, too. We don't know what was in it, and we can't show a picture of that either. Because "one" of us (guess !) got her head caught NOT in the bag, but in the bag handles and ran around the house like a crazy-cat trying to get it off her head! The other one of us (guess who?)... just sat back and said, "I'm much too dignified for such nonsense."

IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR

RETROSPECTIVE
While I was out and about with No. 1 Daughter, looking at wedding dresses, Maggy and Zoey got into my computer files (I didn't even know they knew the pawsword, let alone how to type)... be that as it may, it seems the l'il darlins' searched my thousands of photo files and made me a birthday post. Wasn't that sweet of them?
However, I must now change that pawsword.
1940s: she's kind of cute so they said, and notice,
already "putting things together".
1960s: doing her Marlo Thomas "That Girl" look.
Soon, wife and career woman, mother and now, grandmother.
Every one was "a very good year".

2007 has been a very good year --
I've enjoyed all the lovely new kitties I've met from all over the world,
and enjoyed meeting many of their families as well.
I've enjoyed doing photo design work which is my gift to others,
and in turn, it magically gives back into my own life.
Using the formula that I was 9-months-old at birth, I am now only about 3-months away from Medicare... using the formula that I "turned 1" on my 1st birthday, I am a year away from Medicare. Go figure!

Today I also give a Happy Birthday Wish & Thank You to my own Mom.
After all, she was the one who put in all the effort and labor
oh so many years ago on this day. A big hug and thank you to my dear man, who has made more than half of all these years "very good years". A big hug and thank you to my great kids, grandkids and friends who fill my life with joy!
And thank you to the Cat Blogosphere... where I spotted a birthday cake for me,
early this morning about 6:00 a.m. eastern time...
too early for a bite, but I will enjoy it throughout the day.

Happy Birthday To Me
... some favorites "oldies but goodies" shown below...

WORDLESS: SILENT MOVIES

TRAVELOGUE
COMEDY or IMPENDING TRAGEDY
SHORT SUBJECT

CONGRATULATIONS !

Some Zoey history... you may not know that Zoey has actually been blogging for quite awhile now. She got her start with her fanati-cat Dad over at CAT IN THE BAG. Here, her many virtues (and rare vices) are extolled daily by that same fananti-cat Dad... mixed in with some political musings and worldly commentary. Stop in today and congratulate them both on their 1000th post! And from Zoolatry... big hugs and kisses are being sent over to CAT IN THE BAG (which is actually just across the hallway and 'round the corner...). We love you!

TUESDAYS ARE TOUGH

If it can be Tiny Tuesday, here's me, Zoey...
once upon a time and tiny.

If it can be Troublemaker Tuesday, here's me, Zoey...

organizing Dad's files, and he does appreciate it.

If it can be Terrified Tuesday, here's me, Zoey...

with my most terrified tooth look!
If it can be Tongue-Lashing Tuesday, here's me, Maggy...

and this is what I think of all the picture taking stuff!

FASHION FRIDAY

So, what's with the hair bows? That kid in the middle doesn't have to wear one. Oh, that kids got no hair. And I got lots of hair, eerrrr, fur. Wish I could wear pink (and join the pink ladies). Do you have any idea how long it takes to get dressed up in these clothes! And the shoes, oh my gosh, button 'n buckle forever. From this to jeans 'n tank tops, how time does change things. P.S. Dark curls 'n blue bow'd pretty girl is great grandma.

FASHION FRIDAY, PART II

So, I told Mom, enough is enough. The bow was one thing. But the "big hat", well, I can't even get into my L-Box without it falling off! But the LaFargeville Ladies Club members -- Myra, Wilma and Georgie -- look quite something in their Sunday finest. P.S. Myra is my great great grandmother!

BROTHERLY LOVE

IT MUST BE LOVE

November 2007 is National Hospice Month. The specially designed quilt, shown above, reflects the philosophy of hospice care -- "It Must Be Love". Hospice reaches out to those with life limiting conditions, they may be young, or old, or any age in between.
Thousands of family caregivers are with their loved ones all day, every day. These can be long and difficult days, and nights. But with the help and guidance of hospice, the caregiver can be sustained.
I am a caregiver. I speak from personal experience as nearly 5-years ago my sweet and loving mother came to live with us. She is now 94-years-gold, and in recent months, we have received assistance from hospice in our home. Every one has been professional, kind, warm and generous. They have added to our lives immeasureably, not just with their frequent help, but with their sincere and attentive care.
Thank a caregiver today.
Many of us support most those causes that touch our own lives.
Perfectly Parker has reminded us that this is also American Diabetes Month.
Kellie asked us to remember Breast Cancer Awareness month,
and KC, Missy and Beau told
us about Americans With Disabilities month.
Starbuck & Torrey asked us to support the World Society for the Protection of Animals.
It Must Be Love.

THE CHRISTMAS CLUB

Zoolatry invites you to join "The Christmas Club"... specially designed holiday pictures, for your December postings. If you would like one done for your kitty ... just let us know. These pictures will not be posted on Zoolatry; they are just for you.

No charge, no obligation to use them either.
And because we are PCC (Politically Correct Cats), pictures can be done for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa or New Years Eve or an event of your choice, for those not celebrating Christmas.

1. Email your best kitty picture(s) to us, jpeg, larger size is best. Please be sure to identify kitty by name. We have over 200 kitty photos in our files -- and though each is special and unique, some do look "similar" to us and we get easily confused!

2. Include a little description of what you might like to have done: traditional, serious, colorful, lighthearted, religious, or other... and the holiday you'd like.

3. We'll be working on these over the next month and all pictures will be emailed back to their homes no later than the end of November.

4. When you email, please include your blog name for us to add to our "favorites" list... and we always appreciate a link back to us.

5. No requests after November 30, please.

Thanks from Maggy and Zoey.

U.S.P.S. United Soft Paw Scratchers

Dad... "hey, there's mail today for Maggy and Zoey!"
Zoey... "could it be... toys?"
Maggy... "could it be... treats?"

Perfectly Parker is the most perfect pal.
A super sweet soft and kind little gal.
She sent us some treats, and toys galore.
A package of goodies, we couldn't ignore.
And thanks we send also to
Di-Dog and Rudy and Powder and Puff.
That whole perfect clan,
we can't thank them enough!

Camera shy Maggy is off in the kitchen trying to open the Temptations,
while Zoey is into the toys.
Please scroll down for other new posts today.
