and beneath, a holiday surprise.
Christmas pictures of the past, chosen from our archives.

Sometimes a surprise might be there.
Now I didn't want the fur-girls to put a lump of coal in my stocking, after all my stripey sox are way too important to me to get them dirty 'n dusty with coal! So, I've agreed to their suggestions about what to do this month. Besides, I freely admit that the Christmas season is my favorite time of year ~ red and green are my favorite colors, and I love all the glitter and sparkle, the music, the joys of giving, the warmth and friendship. So, in truth, how could I (we) stay away?
This antique dressing table sits in our foyer. When it was restored (about five layers of black paint covered it), we discovered it was made from many different kinds of wood. The gentleman refinishing the piece, lovingly took the time to restore each type of individual wood, the old hardware, and even the wooden casters. It became the favorite piece of the ZH. So she was definitely a little stressed when I recently decided it was a fine place for an afternoon nap. She was miffed when I would jump up there with my sharp claws and slide across the top, then scrunch around and around until I found the proper sleeping position. After a short time however, I happened to overhear her say, "you know, when I think further on this, my sweet Maggy is much more important and valuable than any old piece of furniture." I have to admit that I'm rather glad she feels that way...
"C'mon Maggy, get your furry butt off the review forms and let's get to work on this! We got lots to do before the end of the month. You know I can't read all of these myself. And there's more up there on the table, too! And we both still have to review the ZH. C'mon, Maggy!"
