MAGGY MONDAY

"What do you mean 'get up and get going'? What do you mean it's back to work Monday? I think I'll call in sick today. I'm not done sleeping. Wait a minute, I don't go to work on Mondays. I don't work any day of the week. For me there's no difference between Saturday and Tuesday. Weekend, weekday, it's all the same to me. So, go away, leave me alone, let me be. A soft blankie would be nice please. Thank you very much. Meow, purr."

EASY LIKE SUNDAY

Maggy, napping on a porch chair. Although I think this is a pretty photograph unto itself, could not resist getting "imaginative" with it. If you'd like to see the results, click here on our other blog, Collectibles by Zoolatry.

PHOTO HUNT: TWISTED

Living on Florida's Space Coast for nearly 20-years has given us the opportunity to view many shuttle launches from KSC and many rocket launches from Cape Canaveral AFS. There were times we were up-close-and-personal, at the KSC Banana River VIP site. Other times we've watched from the beach, from the Indian River, or the dock at our home on Sykes Creek when we lived there. We've seen them at sunrise and sunset, in heat and in cold, daytime and the dark of night. They never fail to amaze. Those of us who live on the Space Coast know the excitement of the space program, NASA and KSC. But we also know it's value, contributions and importance, and hope that NASA will receive sufficient government funding to continue its scientific exploration of our universe.
Above, left: About a year ago, we took my Mom, then 95 years old, to a friends high rise condo on the river -- she saw her first ever shuttle launch. The sight of the TWISTED smoke plume is beautiful as the shuttle leaves earth, the sounds are powerful, depending on wind direction there may be smells of fuel or exhaust, the ground will shudder below your feet.
Above, right: It's always fun to spend a day at KSC with my grand daughter. Top: she is TWISTED inside an old space capsule from the moon launch days, the capsules were small and cramped in those days, allowing no movement and the astronaut would be in some TWISTED position for the entire flight. Bottom: simulated weightlessness, just like the astronauts, and you can TWIST and turn at will.

FINALLY FRIDAY

So, what are you thinking about, Maggy? I'm thinking of all the stuff that's going on tomorrow, Zoey. Like what? Well, there's our Photo Hunt which is Upside Down and Misha's Catwalk Caturday, and don't forget 'matey', it's Talk Like A Pirate Day, too! Gosh, do you think we can do all those things in just one day? Oh, and I just remembered we have to email all the Sherwood Search volunteers. I can take care of that. Right! You can't spell, how can you type on the 'puter?
So, what might you be thinking about Zoey? I'm thinking and wondering if anyone noticed we both got fur-cuts yesterday. Of course, yours looks much better than mine cause you were a good kitty, and I was a bad kitty, so the lady didn't finish me. I even bit the Zoolatry Dad's hand pretty bad when he tried to pick me up. Zoey, you are way too vain. You know I scratched him a whole lot, too. Maybe they won't take me for a fur-cut ever again! Don't count on that, Zo.

THE SEARCH

Well, Zoey has done her job and done it well (except for trying to eat many of the names, due to her inability to control her love of small pieces of paper). She has chosen our 7 volunteers for the Sherwood Search; and we will notify each of you by email. If you don't hear from us, please presume Zoey "ate" your name, sorry. To all our other blogging friends - please watch for this special event, happening on the 7th of every month, starting in October.
OK, Zoey dear. You did work hard so you're entitled to
just hang around for the
rest of the day today.

THE SEARCH

No, no Zoey, not yet! We're still accepting volunteers through the end of
today. So, if you want to volunteer be sure to email us today.
Tomorrow will be the "big drawing". You can play in the basket then.
Scroll down for our regular Wordy Wednesday post.

WORDY WEDNESDAY

Some old posts, revisited. Zoey LOVES shrimp!
She was known ~ once ~ and only once,
to stick her little nose in the shrimp sauce.

THE SEARCH FOR THE SHERWOOD SEVEN

~ THE SEARCH BEGINS ~
Each month, on the 7th day of the month, the cat bloggers
will search far and wide, for One of the Sherwood Seven.
To begin, we need 7 volunteers.
We'll accept volunteers, via email, for the next three days.
The 7 will be chosen in a random drawing (by Zoey!).
NOTE: you must email us if you want to volunteer.
If you comment here, do not mention that ~
the success of this game rests upon anonymity.
The 7 will be notified with further details by email
and each month, on the 7th day of the month,
a notice will be posted on the CB about that days Search...

September 19 - NOT!

~ what I have to say Zoey is that NO ONE better made snide comments ~

CATWALK CATURDAY and PHOTO HUNT: ELECTRIC

We're on the Catwalk today ~ supporting our friend MISHA for New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model. Please ~ if you haven't yet voted, click and go vote! Purrplease. You might be happy to know I got a "paws up" from Tyra, Tim and Heidi for my runway performance: a girl can never have enough fur, so here I am modeling my fur boa with matching pillbox. It's rather subtle I'll admit, but the designer signature is on the back of my pillbox. And don't you love the way the stylist chose a gold toof ring as the ultimate accessory? As they say in the design world, less is more. Oh, and lest anyone have concerns: my furs are of course quite real and luxurious, the furs I am modeling here however are "faux".
