MAKING A CHOICE

If you went out to the market, or a nearby farm to choose a pumpkin ~ to decorate your front porch this year.  Or maybe several, some for the table top or just here or there inside your home, it's reasonable to think you looked for and chose the ones without flaws.  The ones that best represented what a pumpkin should be in every way possible.

As we choose a president for the United States of America, the leader of the free world, who will serve all of us in the years ahead, we have an obligation and a responsibility to choose the one who is the very best in every way possible.  And the choice has been clear for a very long time.  Character and words and decency matter.  Morals and behavior matter.  How we treat our neighbors, our co-workers, how we treat those we do not even know ~ that matters.

We can talk of democracy, we can talk of policies and yes, these issues are important, and it is critical to be informed and educated about these.  But underlying these issues is the character of the person and that will determine their ability to be a leader.  Choose well, it matters.

And little cat JUNE adds, just because she can, and can be "catty" about it ... I think orange is just fine for the pumpkin at my front door.  It is not at all fine for the leader of my country!  I voted BLUE.

  4. I worry about the outcome of this election like I have never worried before. As a woman, I am actually afraid of what might happen if Trump is elected.

  11. Happy Halloween! Orange is only good on pumpkins and not on the face paint of an idiot! We stand with Her!

  12. That is so very true. It is very hard to support a person whose character is questionable, especially when that person will represent all of US as Americans. Lack of a good and honorable character is a very big STOP sign.

  13. perfectly stated and I couldn't agree more. Sadly, those that adore the color orange have their ears blocked. To be completely candid? I think many of them would want to die than to have 1) a WOMAN in the White House 2) A WOMAN of color no less. This election has me beyond nervous. I don't understand how people can be so blind. If the orange nightmare is elected it is going to be a dictatorship and the vitriol will continue........it will be the end of the world in more ways than one and it deeply frightens me.

  14. Certainly an agreeable post to us, June! We like orange in pumpkins, but not in politics!

  17. In a pumpkin, it doesn't have to be flawless, just has to look like a pretty good representation of a pumpkin. In politics, and in everything else people do, character matters. I wish people understood that better.

  18. Pumpkins, when turned into Jack O'Lanterns always look the best if they are not Purrfect! Imperfections always give them character!

  19. Charlee: "Orange is our Dada's favorite color and he is looking forward to a time when it is once again associated mostly with pumpkins and not that other jack-o'-something-something that is on television all the time right now ..."
