ReplyDeleteit's ok Zoey. we saw the message on the CB page, and mommy saided that this happened ALL THE TIME wif Ralphie and Norton when one of them went to the v-e-t. It's the smell of the v-e-t place that throws the other off. Don't worry MommyAnn, it will get better. It might help to take a slighty damp towel and rub it on Maggie, then immediately rub it on Zoey to transfer a familiar smell to Zoey.

PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! oh, zoey, you are still beautyful to us, darlin'!! we finks maggy went nutzoid acause of the smells from the v-e-t office. wifout meaning to, you picked up all sorts of stray mollykewls of scent from offur kitties 'n' woofies 'n' medysins 'n' beans, AND you looked furry different!! like mainly, a whole different cat! so of course maggy hadda defend her territory until her REAL sisfur came home . . .
ReplyDeleteif mom keeps you separated for a while an' lets you sniff each offur unner a door, mags should mellow out an' realize who you are. also, mom could rub maggy wif a towel, an' then rub you wif it, so you would smell familiar to her.

I am sorry your sister attacked you. I think it is quite common when a cat comes back from the vet because of the new smells. It might help if your human cuddles you in a towel and then cuddles maggie with the same towel, moving onto blankets eventually? xx
Darling, you will be just as beautiful to us. Trixie looked a tiny bit like tht when mom first got the zoom groom. She filled an entire waste basket with Trixie floof.

those kittens just came back from the vet on Sunday and soon as i saw 'em i hissed like crazy. they smelled like yucky vet. i didn't 'tack 'em cuz i'z not the 'tackking type, but i runned away from 'em furry fast. yukky yukky smell. hisssssssssssssss!

ReplyDeleteAll of the kitties who have commented already about Maggie hissing at you and attacking you are correct. You look very different to her and you smell different, too, so she doesn't recognize you. We always hiss and growl at each other when somebody comes home from the vet.
Have your mom rub you with a blanket or something that has both of your smells on it. That might help some, but it will take Maggie a while to get used to your new look.
