FELINE FRIDAY [PLUS a Thank You]

Just wait a minute ~ please.  Let me re-arrange a few of these wires-and-cords
and I'm sure we'll have much better TV reception.
[Meow: she's getting to be like those great/great/grands
who couldn't change the flashing red 12:00 on their VCRs once upon a time.]

A paws from FELINE FRIDAY ~ we are sending "paws of thanks" to so many who
have been placing their paws together for our wonderful grand-dog CHEWY.  And we're
happy to let you know that he is doing fairly well this time around.  His family is doing a very
good job of keeping this energetic and active boy "settled" down, giving him a good
chance for healing.  Although he has a long road to go ahead of him, it is looking
far brighter for Chewy and Family right now.  Thank you for caring!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I'm not sure why my ZH has been staying up so late ~ too late ~ the last few nights.
So, I thought a gentle reminder was in order, after all, a little girl like me needs her beauty sleep!
Sad to say, last night she still didn't get the hint ...
Meow.  Is anything going to be like ~ normal, friendly, calm ~ again?
Oh, thankful day for that to be!
For now, g'nite!

OUR SUNDAY SELFIE + PLUS +

For today's Sunday Selfie I wanted you to meet someone special!
Her name is Lambsie Pamsie.  She's special to the ZH (that's my hu-mom) and now she's become
special to me.  We're even sharing our Thanksgiving-November header with her cause we are both
thankful for her.  I don't really know her "story", it hasn't been shared with me just yet, she was already
here when I arrived.  Sometimes the ZH tells me a bedtime story, so maybe sometime she'll
tell me all about Lambsie Pamsie, I hope so.

Right now it's time to go join our friends for the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop at The Cat On My Head.

But just quickly before we do that ~ I'm learning (along with my mouse) to help the ZH with
some blog decorating for the holidays so we both looked at the calendar and want to remind our
friends that if you want or need any decorations you should paw us a note by November 9.
Also, for a few days, she told me I can't be on my own blog, cause we'll be a little too busy
doing the decorating stuff ~ but I'll just take the time to do some visiting instead, cause I know I have
not been very good about that (sorry!)

OUR HALLOWEEN HAUNTING POEM ~ 2020

🎃 THIRTEEN HAUNTING YEARS 🎃

That's right ~ for 13 years "A HALLOWEEN HAUNTING" our traditional poem, has published here on Zoolatry, first appearing on our blog in October 2007!  It has had a few alterations over the years, first written by Maggy and Zoey, now both Angels, when we lived in Florida.  It didn't change a great deal even after we moved north to Maryland and joined family, where we met and fell in love with wonderful Dougie Dog, though we did begin to add some words of inclusion for the woofies among us. It is meant for one and all in our wonderful and always fun-loving pet community.  This year, our new little kitten, June and her friend Boo present our poem to you ~ of course, they are masked as appropriate this year, and we hope you will enjoy reading it as much as we enjoy bringing it to you!  Stay safe and well, eat chocolate. YUM!

If you do go out to "Haunt": Mask, Social Distance, and Sanitize Your Hands!  Check Treats Before You Eat!  Be Safe for Yourself and for Others!

FELINE FRIDAY

I thought it might be fun to do "trick 'n' treat" and I even found a new friend to go with me.
He was hiding sort of behind-and/or-under the refrigerator when I was prowling during the night.
He said he had a sister but she was too a-scared to come out thinking I would eat her up.

Anyway, the ZH says I'm still too little to go out [even with a friend] and then she 'splained it's not
at all safe to do it this year, things being the way they are.  The way they are is not good.
So I'm putting my paws together that all kitties and woofies and all the little human people don't go
out and do trick 'n treating either, or even go to parties or stuff, cause it's probably not good for them!

So, we'll stay indoors and maybe if anyone comes to our door we can "scare" them, and then
afterwards we'll give them a treat!  Then, oh my goodness, the ZH has to 'splain yet another thing to me,
it turns out that the place where we live is almost all kind of oldish people (like her) and
she said they really don't go knocking on doors asking for candy and gum and apples, that they've
outgrowed that kind of thing.  Well, I ask you.  What is the world coming to?
I'm just a wee bit of a thing and here I am living with a lot of oldish peoples?  Oh dear.

Now: this is super secret, hush-hush: don't tell my new friend here, or his sister, but tonight
when it's dark and I'm prowling about the kitchen, if I see either of them, yeah,
I'll most likely eat them up, one or both!
That's my Halloween Treat: cause a growing girl needs her protein.

Wonder if Ms Sandee is giving out treats today at ...

HAPPY TUESDAY ~ ALL BY MYSELF

I still like my private time and my private space.
A little place I can hide out.
I know she knows where I am.  But that's OK.
I kind of pretend that no one knows where I am.
It's fun to pretend.
You do that, don't you?

AWWW MONDAY ~ BABY JUNE

June was adopted at age 6 months.
Her foster mother from AARF graciously shared with me
the early photos of her baby kitty days. I thank her.
What an adorable little bit of a kit she was, and she still is!
Awww!

SCARY-SPOOKY-SUSPICIOUS SUNDAY SELFIE

Right off the bat (no Meow-O-Ween pun intended here) we state and guarantee that this image in NOT photoshopped.  Not.  Period.  Full Stop.  In my 20-ish days (like some fifty plus years ago), when I took classes in photography, the non-digital kind, I remember the instructor saying, "see what the camera sees, the camera will always see what the eye often does not".

A lesson that has just been relearned, or maybe not relearned but certainly played out again.  Of course, with Juney new in the Zoolatry family, the camera is out and at the ready all day long.  And I recently shot a number of photos as she went on another adventure, exploring here and there.  One of the "there" places, a big basket of extra blankets for when winter rolls in.

I thought I was taking a photo of "a cat in a basket".  But the camera saw what I did not see!  And only once loaded onto my computer, did I see ... "cats in a basket".  Do you see?  Is it a trick of lighting?  A left over image in my camera, somehow superimposed on another?  A Halloween haunting?  It does not really seem to resemble Juney ~ it is scary and spooky and suspicious!  Is it the ghost of Halloweens past?

FLASHBACK TO BOOLATRY

The Zoolatry Human was talking to me the other day ~ all about the month of October.
She said that Zoolatry would turn into Boolatry and all month long it would be
sweet-or-scary for those who used to live here ... like Dougie Dog, and our Angels, Maggy and Zoey.
And the grand pets Chewy and Fiona.  And often she would have many friends from the
pet blogging community get all dressed-up and they would show up here, too!
But we couldn't do that this year, the ZH was too busy with bunches of other stuff, and I was
thinking it was a little bit scary for me.  So instead, she said "why don't you flashback, and share
a few of our favorites from the Boolatry days of old" ... so here are just a few!

That's Dougie Dog and Zoey together up top as "pumpkin heads" and then
right beneath what are probably the ZH's all-time favorite scary-Bark-O-Ween pictures
of Dougie Dog.  [and yes, in case anyone wonders, she does hugely miss that wonderful and
awesome Dougie Dog ... who is happily still with his boy]

And below, from our Florida home (c.2008), where although Angel Zoey truly "ruled the roost", there were those
times when Angel Maggy could get the better of her ... especially if "treats" were involved!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Now that may look like half-of-a-heart, but the truth is I have already tucked myself into
someone's whole heart and I am thankful for that (she is, too!).

[the ZH is furr-ustrated as she cannot get mr.linky to properly post, meow!]

TIME FOR TOCK-TOBER

I will be 7 months old on Sunday ~ and having discussed the Tock-Tober event
at some length with my ZH, we came to the agreement that I was still just a little bit too young
for a full-on, total unveiling of my tocks ~ that would just be too revealing at my tender age.
Will this one-quarter view qualify?

I hope that the Ginger-Cuteness Boys ~
Ducky and Angel Derby will approve!

AWWW MONDAY

We can tell our days are ending sooner now.  The sun sets earlier each day.
But I like to sit by my window, and watch the sky darken ever so slowly while the last bits of
sun warm my furs and one by one by one the bright city lights begin to shine.

SUNDAY SELFIE ~ Hide 'n' Seek

What could that lumpy-bump be?
Oh, an itty-bitty-kitty I see!
Come out, little June ~ time to start your day.
And if you really want to play,
we'll go do so the Sunday Selfie way!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

We should all choose kindness each and every day.  I will be thankful for the day that happens.

I will also be thankful when she remembers to put milk-and-sugar in my
morning coffee ~ I've obviously stuck my little nose in the wrong cup here, YUK!

Our Rainbow Friends has published today in memory of those who crossed their
Rainbow Bridge last month ~ please visit with your words of kindness.

Let's all join the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

HAPPY TUESDAY

Another thing I am learning is to keep my "part" of our a"part"ment neat and tidy!
We do this because it is small but though small, perfect for us.
But tidying up is hard as my toys and scratchers and all the wonderful things
I have now seem to be scattered all over.
I really don't know how that happens.
Anyway, after we get up in the morning and have our breakfast,
I see the ZH tidying up, so I know it's time for me to do the same.
So I get right to it ~ first thing is to make my bed.

All done!  Just right now, I'm happy.  Happy Tuesday everyone!

AWWW MONDAY (OOOPS)

When you're a wee little kitten (that's me), you have much to learn.
Practicing the art of being a lap cat is important.  Especially if you are a wiggly one like me.
So when the ZH sat down in the polka-dot chair to watch TV, I thought it was a good time to for a
practice session ~ I must tell you though, the "jeans" or whatever they're called that she
happened to be wearing, well, not all that comfy or soft, my friends.

So I tried to settle this-away and then that-away to find just the right comfy spot ...

Please don't tell anyone.  I totally tumbled off, right on my little tocks.
Practice session No. 1 over.

SUNDAY SELFIE ~ Juney's First One

I've been told that part of my responsibility here at Zoolatry is joining the events and activities and blog hops ~ I'm just getting "into" them and I think it will be fun!  My ZH (that's my Zoolatry Human, for those of you who may not have known that) also told me that I should start visiting many of you more and "meowing" to you also ~ so I'm going to start doing that also ~ she said it is a good way to make friends.  Here in my new home, in my new city, I'd like to make new friends ...

Today is one of the big blog hops of the week.  It's Sunday Selfies over at The Cat On My Head!  Mmmmeow, there's no cat on my head and I have not tried getting on my ZH's head, but be that as it may ... here is a selfie of me looking out at my new city.  It's called Charm City and that is the happy name for Baltimore, USA!  And where we live is truly charming.  It's the historic and cultural part of the city, old and interesting with so much to see and do.  The ZH says it is "walkable".  Now I don't know what that means, but I understand she is getting a stroller soon (stroller?) and together we're going to walk and walk and ...

One place we'll look closer at I can see the top of right from my window and it looks beautiful.  It is called the Baltimore Basilica.  It's the oldest Catholic cathedral in our country.  There is a small garden on the corner, peaceful and quiet and I am anxious to visit there.  The church bells waken us and ring again mid-day and they chime when it is my dinnertime!  How lovely is that ...

... my story will continue ...

But now I will go join the friends who are
all sharing their Sunday Selfies, see you there!
