PHOTO HUNT: FALL

There I was, enjoying a little nap on the bath bench, when the
ZH decided to climb up and take a photo of me.  Silly woman ...  I said to her,
"be careful ... you could fall".
Of course, my deciding to untie her shoelaces only added to the possibility of that ...

PHOTO HUNT: HAND

Last November, my daughter traveled to Kolkata, India
with her husband and son to visit with his family.
Right, my daughters hand ~ center, her mother in law  ~ left, her sister in law.
Mehandi is the application of henna as a temporary form of art in India.  The word "mehndi"
is from the Sanskrit word "mendhika" and is described in the earliest of Hinduism's
"Vedic" ritual books and intended as a symbol of the outer and inner sun,
and an "awakening of the inner light".

PHOTO HUNT: CAN

A favorite childhood story, "The Little Engine That Could".
CAN is a powerful word.
And I think I can ... we think we can!
With special thanks to Crazy Cat Lady Carm for letting us borrow her
wonderful photos of the lion!

I truly love working with photoshop to enhance or alter or create
new photo-art images ~ and am available to do photo-art for you, just
click on any of the pages above for details.

PHOTO HUNT: TEXTURE

A favorite photo, taken several years ago of my grandson, now age 6,
enhanced and textured with photoshop.

P.S. ~ the ZH just created a new header for Jo's World.
It is colorful, happy ~ and was tons of fun to work on for
Jo, Stella and Ali Z.  We especially LOVE his SOX!

PHOTO HUNT: LOUD

Friday, February 24, 2012 - 5:15 PM, Eastern Time, successful launch of an Atlas V rocket carrying a Navy communications satellite.  This satellite will orbit more than 22,000 miles above the earth, acting as a giant "cell phone tower".  This is the largest satellite ever launched by an Atlas rocketHaving lived on the "Space Coast" of Florida for many years now, we have gotten very accustomed to LOUD noises ... the roar of shuttles launching into space, the twin sonic booms of their landings.  Left, a photo in the Rocket Garden at the Kennedy Space Center ~ my granddaughter covers her ears as if these rockets might loudly launch at any moment! The Rocket Garden is a display area for unmanned rockets ~ the Atlas, the Delta, the Titans that lift into space from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.  Though the shuttle program has ended, these unmanned launches are still quite frequent ~ still very LOUD

SWEET SATURDAY and PHOTO HUNT: HEART

My Mom always kept a little box of keepsakes, those things that were special for her.  After she passed away in 2010, I came across that little box.  Among the mementos it held, were these two Valentine cards from 1944.  I was just three-months old then, my first Valentine's day.  The card on the left was from Mom to me, the card on the right was from my Dad.  The greeting cards of those times were often small, on delicate and lightweight papers.  Soft colors, gentle art.  And here, hearts.
My Heart Belongs To Daddy!  I've been keeping a close watch on Poppy Vic since he came home from the hospital.  He wasn't too happy when I jumped up on the bed to welcome him home and landed on his "heart".  I heard him say "oooooowwie"!  The doctor didn't work on his heart, but close to it.  So I am being very careful now.  Me, and Mags and the ZH are all taking good care of him.  The ZH said we have to help him recover.  I said all your purrs 'n' prayers are helping him a lot!

PHOTO HUNT: FLAT

When I first arrived at the Zoolatry home, and was an itty bitty kitty just
five months old, I liked to hide under the coffee table.
I still like to hide there, but now I have to make myself
really, really FLAT to do so.
