PAGE 30, THE BOOK OF ZOEY

Hi, Zoey here ... I decided (with the approval of the Zoolatry Human) that for the final page of The Book of Zoey I wanted to share photos of my fur family ... my "then family" and my "now family".  So, the ZH helped me choose some pictures, and make some montages and here they are!

When I was a Florida girl, for many years, my only fur sibling was Maggy, the Magster, shown below.  Now, as the story goes, we really didn't get along too well, our parents thought it was a girl-thing, each of us wanting to be dominant, but whatever it was, well, it just was!  But I have to admit, Maggy is a real beauty and sometimes I do miss her ... she was the ZH's heart cat, and I was Daddy's Girl ... but I'm happy that Mags is happy, in her new home on the Gulf Coast with lots of fur siblings and her great Mom, Ms Peggy.

Shown with Maggy, even tho they've never met ... and I've never really met him either, is my "virtual" brother, Dougie Dog!  He's the one who lives with the ZH now, cause she can't have kitties ... I think he might chase me cause he does chase squirrels 'n' rabbits all the time.  But I'm told he's really very sweet, so, well, I'll believe her.

The second picture shows my "now family", my two real-life brothers, TK and Pip, who I love so much.  I first came to live with them and my Auntie Dee 4-years ago.  TK is quite an old boy now, and not so healthy ... I used to pester him a lot (I'm sorry, TK), now I understand better, and try not to bother him, because he is really the sweetest cat that ever walked on earth and I do love him.  And then there's Pip ... he's a lot younger than me, and still playful and kitten-y, so we have lots of fun together.  Maybe it's a boy-thing, but I seem to get on better with my brothers ... mmm.

So ... that's the end of The Book of Zoey ... well, not the end really, since I'm always a part of Zoolatry.  I hope you enjoyed it .... meow!

The Book of Zoey, a month of flipping through her photo album, looking at old photos and old posts is winding down, coming to an end.  So many pictures and so many memories ~ far too many to show in just a month of days!  More than we could show in a year of days!  Here, just a random collection of favorites ~ no rhyme or reason to them, just chosen because they show her personality in many different ways.  Hope you enjoy ...

SPA DAY with ZOEY

Once upon a time, in our Florida home, the master bath was a wonderful place for photos of the kitty girls ~ full of natural lighting thanks to large, glass block windows.  And both the kitties loved playing and relaxing and napping in there as it was often full of warmth and sunlight.  These are favorite photos of Zoey ... on one of her "spa days" in the bathroom ...

Looks like the cupboard is bare ...
I guess it's time to make a shopping list ...

Oh dear!  Not unlike many shoppers, I've come home with things not on the list ...

A wholabunch of Zoey!

Rare old photos ~ rare, because I don't think there are any others with Zoey's fur this long, nearly
touching the floor!  I don't even know for sure (unfortunately) when these were taken
or how old she was ~ but I suspect only age two or three.  Because not long after she left kitten-hood,
we began to keep her fur trimmed much shorter with regular "spa visits". And even the
occasional "lion cut".  She would develop really bad mats in her fur, which for her were quite
uncomfortable ... but I must admit, I missed allowing to to have this long luxurious fur!

But I think she was thankful not to be full of mats anymore!

MEOW Like A Pirate!

WOOF Like A Pirate!

Although this is Zoey's month, she graciously allowed Dougie Dog
to join her on this special ... fun day!

The Book of Zoey has so many photos of her ~ and as we mentioned in an earlier post this month, she has never shied away from the camera ~ often posing willingly in her inimitable way!  With over 1,100 blog postings devoted just to her, and many more that include her, it's been hard to choose the photos we want to repost during her special month.  Not to mention the photo files of images never shown.  So I've often found myself putting several together, so as to yet again show "my favorites" of this adorable little, silly and gorgeous kitty girl!  The three below seem appropriate as selfies ~ posing sweetly, showing off her dreamy blue eyes and her funny little toof!  Hope you enjoy them ... Zoey, times three in all her kitty cat beauty!

And we join our friends at THE CAT ON MY HEAD for Sunday Selfies!

Once upon a time when I wanted to give the kitchen floor and the dining area a really good
cleaning and waxing ~ I moved all the bar stools and dining chairs
(and the little munchkins step stool) into the living room.
It became an immediate challenge and climbing station for the curious cat of the house (you know who).
First posing as "king, er ... queen of the mountain".
Then, when being told to "get down", giving me the "look of doom".
Sigh.  Cats do what cats want to do!

Today is Grandparents Day!
Our "Selfies" are from The Book of Zoey, pages gathered as she photo-bombed attempts to
photograph our grandchildren over the years.  During twenty-years of life in Florida, we were
blessed with the arrival of three grandchildren and the joy of spending time with them, watching
them grow.  Also during those years, two kitties, Maggy and Zoey joined the family.  Though
Maggy often avoided the camera ~ not Zoey.  She seemed to enjoy having her photo taken, often
"posing" nicely for the camera and frequently photo-bombing other photos!
So ... below ... a random collection in celebration of Grandparents Day ... kids and kits!

As we join THE CAT ON MY HEAD
for Sunday Selfies today, we continue prayers for our family in Florida
and the many dear friends there.

I can be anything.
Anything I see!
Whatever I want, I shall be!
Yes, that's me!

I have one tusk.  But I can grow two.
An ELEPHANT in the jungle.  Not in a zoo!

A TIGER with stripes.  A growl that's so loud.
No little meow.  I'll stand out in a crowd!

TURTLE, oh turtle.  Your home's always there.
Wherever you go, no worries, no care!

Some see me a kitty.  But I am LION king.
Stalking the jungle, a roar I will sing!

from The Book of Zoey) ... it's sponsored by our friends Athena and Marie.

When our third grandchild was born, our daughter and son-in-law lived "just down the road a-piece" from us, so it seemed natural that when they returned to work, the grandboy would come to us during the day.  So our "retirement home" soon became full of cribs, playpens, highchairs and assorted baby things which morphed into walkers and bouncers and hot-wheels.
Needless to say ~ each and every colorful toy was a source of curiosity and fun for Zoey ... cat toys no longer sufficed,
as a whole new world opened up for her!

Just plain thankful for all the years had with this silly, fun, wonderful, pretty kitty!

And we have paws together for our family in Florida, and
our many, many friends there as well ... that all will remain safe and secure in the days ahead.
May God watch over them.

And so today we're part of Brian's Thankful Thursday.

Well, back to work today.
And as you can clearly see, I am working very hard!
I'm about to do some filing.  Impawtent papers 'n' other things
