UPDATED MORNING ROUTINE (and a NOT SO THANKFUL THURSDAY)

If you happened by yesterday, you saw our Morning Routine . . .

Well, (it's June here) now I want to share the rest of the story.  Shortly after posting, I curled up for a lovely nap.

Of course, she just had to snap/snap a photo, apparently thinking I looked rather cute ...

The snap/snap and a bit o' flash did disturb and naturally I woke . . .

Sheesh, now you understand why it is a Not So Thankful Thursday.  Sigh.

Can't you pet pawrents ever ever stop taking our pictures ...

THE MORNING ROUTINE

Early morning in our little studio, not quite sunrise yet.  The feline routine: I like to wake mine Mommy very early, much earlier than she likes to be up.  But she usually gets up anyway, cause she knows my tummy is grumbly and she also knows I'll keep pestering her until she does get up!  So we do what we do in the litter loo.  Wow, I made a rhyme!  Then it's breakfast for me, coffee for her.  And neither of us is grumpus now.  

Our little table by the window has two chairs.  Just right for we two ~ one Mommy and one kitty, so we take our places.  She on one side, at her computer and me on t'other, just curled up, napping maybe or waiting to see my post for the day. I do have to approve my post you know.  That's mandatory cause it is my blog.  

Turns out that today, she wasn't sure what to post.  So she came over, took pictures of me in t'other chair (I posed nicely) and so this wound up being out post, The Morning Routine.  How 'bout that?

When she finished the picture and finished all this writing (which I really can't read) she spun the laptop around, I looked up from my chair on my side, and meowed my approval!  

MEOW, OK, WE'RE GOOD TO GO, MOM. HIT PUBLISH!

AWWW ~ SUPER SAD MONDAY

I don't even feel like posting today, Mommy.

Me either, June, we are both sad.  
Our RAVENS lost, the roaring LIONS lost and we so wanted them to win, too!

But my super-good friends Lightning, Misty and Timber they are winners

fur sure and I'm going to root for them all the way,

they played beautifully (whether I liked it or not) ... so, Go Chiefs!

Sportsmanship and friendship, that's the name of the game, right, June.

A SPECIAL THANKFUL THURSDAY

We are thankful, and giving paws up to our friend Carol Lowbeer ~ and also to her little furry ones, from the beautiful blog, PEACHES and PAPRIKA.

Carol is an artist in every sense of the word, and an amazing photographer, her first love being nature photography.  If you visit her blog we encourage you to click on the link (below her header) to view her Animal Portrait Gallery in particular.  She is a CWA Certificate of Excellence and MUSE award winner, having blogged since 2015 with a strong and popular presence on social media.  And found the time to write and publish six Peaches & Paprika books available at the Amazon link below.

Well known for her slide shows, these presentations of meowing furry-friends are created by Carol several times throughout the year and featured on her own YouTube channel, and other media.

WORDY/SLEEPY/CRANKY/GRUMPY WEDNESDAY (but the cat is fine!)

 Mine Mommy is super sleepy today, not sure we'll get 'round to see many of you.

At 2:30 am our fire alarm went off and kept going and going like that old energizer bunny for 30-minutes,

 it's very loud and that "lady in the squawk box lives right up over our bed" 

and I don't like her voice at all! 

 

She was yelling "emergency get out of the building".  

Of course, I ran and hid in the closet, and mine Mommy

won't get-out-of-the-building without me ~ so that was that!

She's says it's never easy anyway to carry "chubby me" down 

16-flights of stairs in my carrier if'n she can even get me in the carrier!

Treats are no encouragement when the carrier is out.

At 3:45 am a fireman gave an "all clear" through that same box thing 

and then we finally curled up for some more sleep, but it didn't come easy.

Now, mine Mommy is not only tired but a little cranky and grumpy.

I can't figure out why though,

I only meowed and pawed at her head at 5:00 am desperately wanting breakfast.

It might be wise to hide in the closet again.

PRE-TENTING or PRE-TENDING

June has always loved her paper tents as much, if not more, than boxes.  When one is set up, she'll play in it for hours ~ for days, until such time as it becomes so "shredded" it has to be tossed away in recycling.  Though from time to time I've bought "similar" tent-type structures online, she's never enjoyed them like the homemade ones.  I always keep a large roll of craft paper in the closet, at the ready for tent making.  But the lighter-weight paper that comes stuffed in the Chewy orders seems preferable.

On this day, we'd received two very large boxes, our Chewy order, so a lot of crinkled-up paper was stuffed inside and in my haste to put away all the items ordered ~ I just tossed all the paper on the day bed. 

Apparently, June decided that it was just as much fun to do some paper play and pre-tenting ~ or pre-tending ~ then and there.  Why wait?  We should all be happy with the little things in life ... that are right there in front of us, yes ~ why wait?

HOME RENOVATIONS 2024

 

MOM!  Hey, do we gots any monies in our your January budget for home renovations?

That windiness from the Inner Harbor that came wif all the snows collapsed part of my tent!

Of course we do, little June.  I'll call a contractor and get them started today.

MOMMY!  Make sure he has really good sub-contractors cause

insides sorta messy, too.

THE NEXT DAY ...

Hey, Juney, why aren't you going in your newly renovated tent?  Where are you off to?

Gotta find my hard hat, I not going in wif-out it and I'm gonna read that OSHA report, fur sure, 

I mean, Mommy, those guys left tools behind 'n' stoled my toys ...

Zoolatry comment: a GREAT BIG Paws Up to the Detroit Lions and all their fans, looking at you Roary and Levi ... now we do have to admit to rooting loud-and-long for the Buffalo Bills, but seeing how the Kansas City Chiefs fought well and hard, and our great friends, the Woos, Lightning, Misty and Timber are their Number One fans, we have to give them a paws up too!   But next weekend ~ watch out Chiefs, the Ravens are gonna getcha, getcha good!

Normally when a box appears, I jump right in.  

After all, I am a cat.  That's what we do.
However, the box that showed up on this day was not your normal box.

Don't you agree?
The shape, the size, no "top" opening, not normal, huh?

Would I even fit in it?

Though a few toys were there to tempt me, this box

definitely required some further investigation before entering.

Let's investigate.  

THANKFUL THURSDAY ~ A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING

 There's a place for everything.  And everything in it's place.

I've had this special kitty ham-mick for some time now.  It came to me as a gift when my sweet friend PIP rushed off to become an "angel".  Did you know you can have your very own custom-made ham-mick, just visit Forty Paws anytime and if you do you might also see our other "angels" there resting on their ham-micks ... Maggy and Zoey, and Pip's bro-fur, our friend TK. 

But more about this ham-mick ... which has been here in our studio awhile now.  In that corner, by that wall, over near mine Mommy's desk.  I might sniff it.  I might walk around it.  I might push my paw at it.  But I have never ever never got onto it, lay on it, used it.

The other day, mine Mommy was pushing Mr Dyson around, and I saw her take her foots and push the ham-mick under the bookshelf.  Ah ha.  The right place.  Everything has it's place, and there is a place for everything and I am thankful that my ham-mick is now in it's right place!

SUNDAY SELFIE ~ DRESS FOR SUCCESS

It's DRESS UP YOUR PET DAY ~ and it's kinda sorta bitter-cold (or snowy rainy windy cloudy) just about everywhere, too!  And if'n you also happens to be a footsball fan (which me 'n mine Mommy are), well, there's lots of that going on yessersday, today, tomorrow and yet to come.  Wow!  Of course, our team is on rest this weekend, but that doesn't mean we can't root for some of the others ... and support our furriends!  

Without offense to any gotta give a big paws up to the Detroit Lions (who will meet up with the LA Rams), after all, a wholabunch of you out there are in the Mitten State and are our furriends! When it comes to the Green Bay Packers vs the Dallas Cowboys, we'll have to sit on the sidelines cause we'd toss a coin for either on this one, with friends north and south.

But back to the cold.  After all it is SUNDAY SELFIE time over at The Cat On My Head, right?  And I'm bundled up against that snow 'n' cold that is on the way, while supporting my team ~ Number One in the NFL right now by the way ~ the Baltimore RAVENS, whose next time on the field will be a divisional match up against the winner of tomorrows Bills vs Steelers game.
