"with a wink and a tail-wag to Mark Twain"
Once upon a time, in the 1800s, I lived in a little village called
St. Petersburg, in Missouri, on the banks of the Mississippi River.
My cousin was named TomCat Sawyer, and he was known to be the
village "bad cat". At times, I could be mischievous too.
Once when TomCat was especially naughty, our
Aunt PollyPurrs said he had to whitewash the fence as
his punishment. No Temptations for him that day!
But instead, TomCat got together with his really wicked
whiskered friend, HuckFurrocious Finn. They stole an
old dinghy and drifted away down river in search of
feline adventures. I didn't want TomCat to be in more
trouble whenever he came home, so I went off to
Aunt PollyPurrs house to whitewash her fence.
Perhaps I got a bit carried away that day.
But then I am a colorful cat.
I prefer a colorfully painted fence!
You look lovely all painted!

A rainbow of colors fence is certainly colorful. We thinks you were nice to paint the fence for him and very creative. ~Socks, Scylla, Charybdis & Fenris
ReplyDeleteZoey, I agree with you! White is just blah! You did a furry good job painting the fence (and yourself)!
ReplyDeleteMom did a great job with cattifying the classic Tom Sawyer, too!
You obviously have picked up some of your Mom's artistic talents!!

The only advantage to whitewashing the fence is the paint on you would stand out more! We love the colorful fence and think you are very talented.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes must not be working right. I've never seen a cat with those colors.
ReplyDeleteThat is just purrfect!
ReplyDeleteZoey, you are almost as colorful as your fence!

ReplyDeleteI say the more colors the better!

Oh, Zoeypaws, that is just the nicest thing you've done for TomCat.
ReplyDeletei think zoeypaws sawyer sounds a lot better than tom sawyer anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't get any of that colored paint on your beautiful fur... this is why the sawyer cat made everyone else paint the fence. (Mr. Rhett)
