This photo dates back to June 8, 2007.
It is the launch of Shuttle ATLANTIS, Flight STS-117, which was the longest space
flight Atlantis ever had ~ 14 days in space.
My Mom, then age 93 along with her great-granddaughter, then age 8, viewed it from a friends
balcony overlooking the Indian River and the Kennedy Space Center.
It was Mom's first ever launch viewing ~ a bird's eye view!
ZOOM!

That's some serious zoom! What a great picture... and a wonderful memory that must be for you! We miss the shuttle launches.
ReplyDeleteAtlantis STS-135, the final shuttle launch, was the day that the head peep rescued Ashton from the highway and we became her forever home. If she had been a boy cat, she would have been named Atlantis!
What a wonderful memory to share! Purrs from the Zee/Zoey gang
