Today is all about
MATILDA and THE LEGACY CHRONICLES
and Those Who Came Before
The story begins in 2008 and the search for a dog that would
get along well with cats!
Deciding on a
boxer led to the Legacy Boxer Rescue and Casey was adopted!
It was a full 5-months of foster care before
he came into the Legacy Chronicles home.
He’d been the dog of a hoarder, sick with mange,
nearly without fur
and always banned to the outdoors without grass or shade in
the heat of Texas!
But Casey became the most
amazing dog and a pawfect amabassadog for the boxer breed.
It was soon after, that time was spent volunteering at LBR
and fosters arrived here,
to share home and hearth with Casey.
Cinderella and Jessie!
Cinderella, originally kept as a breeder and
abandoned when she became too old.
Jessie just a little pup stray left by the side of the road.
Cinderella was part of this little boxer
family until the age of 14 in 2015.
Sadly, both little Jessie and dear Casey died too soon …
at ages 3 and
10 in 2018 just a month apart from one another.
And now there is Matilda ~ beautiful, gentle ~ a loving
soul.
And her story is a kinder one,
coming to the Legacy Boxer Rescue
at a mere 5-months by a young woman who just
was
not ready to handle an active, young boxer!
And from there … coming to her home at The Legacy Chronicles.
Matilda is one of the lucky ones, the blessed
ones ~
she has not known what it is to be lost, abandoned, or abused ~
and she
never will thanks to LBR.

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing and sad how so many humans choose a pet because they are cute, or the look they want in a pet and then can't handle it. People need to research breeds before bringing any pet into their home.
