We love Shel Silverstein and have for over forty years. When it came time to pass our children's books on to them, or to others, his books of poems were ones we kept. And we read these poems with joy and giggles and with meaning to our grandchildren over the years. His poems always had something important to say.
Today is Send A Card To A Friend Day and June (and I) believe this little poem has a lot to say about friendship ~
And where better to find many friends
than at The Cat On My Head
Sunday Selfies Blog Hop
That's very sweet June and very true too!
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful and I agree Silverstein had great messages in books he wrote ~ one of my favorites is The Giving Tree ~ Happy Sunday to you ~ ^_^

ReplyDeleteOh, wow, Juney, that is a pawsome card you are mailing out today! Way better than the sympathy card(s) I had to send today, though those are quite important too, as your Mom will let you know.
ReplyDeleteI and hubby read tons of books to our boys when they were young, and I still have oodles of them, but I have not even heard of this author. Maybe if we have grands some day...
That is very thoughtful of you to put that card together. Mom says she remembers reading from Mr. Shel's book of poems at school when she was a young girl.
