When I try to wake my Mom, with gentle paws, at 3:30 am, because I have hungers for my breakfast,
I hear her say, "not yet" and she goes back to sleep.
I hear her say, "not yet" and she goes back to sleep.
When I start meowing and pawing at 3:30 pm, at that one cupboard drawer that I know has all my food cans,
because I'd very much like to be served dinner,
I hear her say from somewhere, "not yet, Junie girl".
Alas, "not yet" or "not now" is something We kitties hear all too often.
ReplyDeleteOh, you poor dear girl. I shudder at the thought of being told that constantly. Your expression speaks volumes, though that photo is so cute with your ornament dangling. Thankfully, my eating's such a thing here that they keep me supplied so I don't end up making my kidney issues worse. That, plus my vet says at my age they gotta just be glad I'm eating.
ReplyDeleteMoms need to be on OUR schedule!
ReplyDeleteI get the same not yet too, Juney. Our moms need to adjust to our schedules!
ReplyDeleteBeau said his mommy does that too, and those are the times he eats, 3:30 am 3 pm like clock work, so he starts his antics 30 minute prior.. we are never allowed to sleep past 3:30 am.. tell your mama I am going to steal her ideas with the ornament. it put ideas in my head... just call me Mad Copy Cat
ReplyDeleteWaiting is hard, isn't it, June?
ReplyDeleteWalter hears that phrase a lot too, June. It's too bad our pawrents don't just feed us when we are hungry.
ReplyDeleteKittens and patience are not a good mix - MOL! That is a darling photo today June, but I am in love with your header photo, squeeee!
ReplyDeleteOH! We live your polka-dot or-man-ent!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see where you put it, when it is after not-yet.
My mommy says "Is not time yet, little man."
I went back to sleep for a whole hour this morning. So I got lots of bushings after breakfast.
Your brofur, Pip
Don't worry June, not yet will arrive.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate, June. Mom tells me the same when I call for breakies before the sun comes up and when I want to have a 3rd dinner. Tee hee hee.
ReplyDeleteIt is tough to be patient.
ReplyDeleteMackey has an excellent built in clock. If Mom is busy and misses one of those special times, Mac is right there to remind her.
ReplyDeleteSigh! June, we hear those 2 words a lot too! Do you think that they learn it at Mom school? We hope you and your Mom have a marvellously Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteNot yet might be 5 letters, but its a bad word, at least we think so! Get used far too often as well...
ReplyDeleteOopsie, forgot the notify me button, LOL!

Patience is so hard for kitties, especially when they are hungry !
ReplyDeleteIf "not yet", then when ? Purrs
ReplyDeleteI love our Christmas tree but the American habit of putting it up a month early really baffles me! Then it comes down on Boxing Day *shakes head * Still, I KNOW you will love seeing the tree when it's up it will sparkle and shine and you will go WOW when you hang your decoration on the tree!
ReplyDelete3:30 a.m.????????? We would not see our bowls until nightime if we did that to our Mom. Juney, you need to stretch that time to wake up a LOT more!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Junie, Da Boyz cannot tell time either!
ReplyDeleteThey start pawing at me about an house before mealtime.
Thankfully, Sweetie usually justs naps until I wake her up with a full bowl.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteThose darn "not yets" !!!!!!!
Purrs, Julie
Maybe you should be a little more purrsistent sweet June!
ReplyDeletePoor baby! I love your ornament :)
ReplyDeleteThere's just too much waiting in this world, isn't there.
ReplyDeleteAt least you get a “not yet,” June. I just get ignored! ~Ernie
ReplyDeleteI have found the time never gets to be not yet.
ReplyDeleteWell that's no fun not being able to hang your ornament on your tree xoxo Little Miss Titch
