MY CHRISTMAS STORY

Things can be broken. Hearts can be broken. Lives can be broken.
But we can put the pieces back together again.
Life does change, and life goes on.
I hold in my heart for each a Christmas wish that your memories
will bring a smile to your lips, not tears to your eyes.
If a tear should fall, may it be one of joy
for all you have been blessed with in another time and place.
And may that tear also be one of thanks for all you now have in your life.
May the goodness of Christmas come to you.

  11. Ann this is beautiful....and what a tradition you and Vic had.
I'm so sorry your special bear ornament broke...in my mind's eye, I see each smaller piece gathering a slight breeze to guide each up the Vic this year.

  28. So touching, eloquent, and true. Love endures. And President Biden has shown the way. Your personal story is testament to this. May the happy memories wash over you each and every day.

  29. Nothing that breaks can remove the love, because love is eternal. Now the story of the broken ornament becomes part of the story of the love. I love the President's message of hope and love. We can never have too much love. Meowy Cats' Mess to you both, though in this case it was the human who made the "mess"!

  31. As I am at this moment listening to the King's College Cambridge boys choir, I am already moved...and now there are tears in my eyes...like you say, of memories, treasured so much of Christmases past, and yesterday's and perhaps future ones...and those of our loved ones with an empty place now...many of them. Oh, my, TOO many of them...but I am so happy that I was even privileged to have had them in my life at all. And there are SO many memories forever, kept in my heart's treasure box.
Thanks for reminding us to remember and cherish the happy thoughts so they will crowd out the perhaps sad and unhappy ones. When we know our loved and missing ones are in Heaven, it is good to know that they are there to watch over us until we may be there with them in future days; as yet unknown and unseen before us.

I hope you found many blessings in Christmas 2021. And may they continue to give you happiness peace and joy in your heart.
