I guess I'm a bit "old school", having toted around this old leather daytimer now since my college and early work days. The same one, for 58-years! It's still in good shape, in spite of scratches and dings on the leather and I still love it, of course changing out the inserts each year, saving the old pages for a year or two, sometimes wishing I'd saved all 58-years-worth! Sure, there have been calendars and addresses and notes saved on newer tech ~ tech that has crashed, long before there was a "cloud" saving it, or maybe not backed up on a hard drive, oops! But there's my old reliable paper daytimer. And that old flip cell phone, couldn't seem to transfer what was "saved", oops again, paper to the rescue. Please bury it with me, so I'll have my contacts!
Getting up for a fresh cup of coffee yesterday morning, early, checking the blogs, JUNE on the table as always alongside ... the ever curious cat decided to check our schedule for the day. Wonder if she was able to flip to her JUNE in JUNE month?
who knew June can read? to cute, I was prepared to hear she clawed or pawed your pages but all she did was check on her page. I had one like this, a really nice one they gave to me years ago at work, I just could not get used to using it. I do use a wall calander and keep them for 6 or 7 years. everything goes on there, and the address book or I should say contact book lives in the drawer. same thing but not in one place.. I don't trust having only what is in the cloud, if the cloud goes down then what. I also keep the phone book for just in case, although I have forgotten how to use it
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Mom has always had wall calendars. We still have one every year with special days noted like birthdays and anniversaries, but appts are not all on the digital calendar. Your leather planner is truly special and all the marks and scratches make it all the more special.
ReplyDeleteoh are you planning your days now? we bet there are ots of funny events... are mice included?
ReplyDeleteIf June bit any pages, those puncture marks will live forever.
ReplyDeleteHubby still has his too, but doesn't use it the same as when he was working. Each year he'd get the next years calendar and off he'd go. This made me smile.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
Junie, you are just too cute for words!!

Rosy, Jakey & Sunny
mum had a bee-yoo-tee-ful leather daytimer till they discontinued the size and style, now she has a faux daytimer
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure trove you have there, Ann! I don't blame you for keeping the daytimer. It's so much more than that, really. And June, you are such a nosy little Parker (even though your last name isn't Parker). So cute!
ReplyDeleteJune wanted to know if she had any impawrtant dates...or some long lost contact she wanted to chat/mew with!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture!
That's one super sturdy daytimer to have lasted all those years. What a cute picture of June peeking in to see what was on today's agenda.
ReplyDeleteWell yes, pencil and paper is always dependable, and so are you sweet June! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteDang, I don't know if I said or not but thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteMum thinks thats cool. She still gets excited about pens and paper(especially fountain pens)

Purrs, Julie
Awww, that is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteI prefer old school too. XO
ReplyDeleteJune, you are a great assistant to the ZH.. Our Mom has a similar daytimer too and she loves hers as well. But lately she seems to find herself relying more on her iPhone calendar to keep dates straight. What she really likes is being able to set an alert for a day or a week before the event.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
My momma uses her Lilly Pulitzer planners every year - she likes having a physical "thing" instead of just a phone or computer schedule.
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for analog!
ReplyDeleteThe older the product, the better it works (From Foley, Pocket and River Song)
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the older ways too. I'm often frustrated by new tech stuff. Cute picture of June!

Sometimes, nothing beats paper for lasting a lifetime. Or printed photos. Or passwords saved on paper because paper can't be hacked. We notice that June is pushing something open by nose. Lori does the same thing. Her nose is almost like a paw to her.
