This is a story of a cat and a bag.
It takes place on a rainy, grey day when the cat is bored with little to do.
And the cats owner is bored, also with little to do.
So the cats owner decides to create a game of intrigue for the cat.
She knows the cat will want to peek into the bag to find out what's inside
and then the cats owner can watch the interesting situation unfold.
And neither of them will be bored.
This is the bag.
The cat has come round the corner and pauses upon first seeing the bag.
The cat cautiously moves to the other side of the bag, looking away with feigned disinterest as cats are wont to do.
Feeling comfortable now, curiosity setting in, the cat relaxes beside the bag.
Thinking it had seen slight movement, heard a slight sound, the cat dares to glance toward the bag.
The cats interest has been piqued, and so the cat looks up.
That movement, the sound, did it perhaps come from behind the bag, wonders the cat.
Hey. Where is the cat going? Is the cat leaving? Seriously? Is the cat not interested in the bag? Why does the cat not paw at the bag? Knock it over? Look inside? See if it hides a toy or a treat? Aren't cats supposed to be curious? Surely our story can't end this way. This was meant to be a game of intrigue. But now it's just like game over. This is no longer fun. And we're still bored.
And then there's that cats owner. Still sprawled flat on the floor on the other side of the room with her cell camera and too many photos of a plain old bag and no cat at all because she knows the cat has gone off to hiding in the closet and is not coming back.
End of story.
ooooh there is magic!! we guessed it...
ReplyDeleteOh no. We expected so much more from you, Juney!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking The Cat prefers bags that are dropped and not intended to entice The Cat. Hard to believe she did not even check the inside. Next time lay in down on its side, this will give you another day to have something to relieve the boredom.
ReplyDeleteHa! Great story. That's what we humans get, for thinking we can entertain any cat. :-D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new May header, June, it's gorgeous!
June, don't you know that cats aren't supposed to be able to resist bags?
ReplyDeleteI guess not all stories have a happy ending do they? It looks like June went on to find herself something more interesting. That's just like Precious.
ReplyDeleteCats have unlimited patience and can out wait any human. Maybe a larger bag would be more fun to jump in? June, you were not very nice to your mom.
ReplyDeleteActually, this is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha!! A kitty who could care less about a bag....that made for a not boring fail for all of us to giggle over.
ReplyDeleteTry a box... =^x^=
ReplyDeleteHave a great week !
That is a best seller and I'm sure the movie producers will be calling requesting permission to make a movie
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
Cats are such finicky creatures. Mine loves boxes, he'll jump right in. He also enjoys nibbling on plastic bags as if he never ate a real meal. Sigh....love the photos. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteEven if June didn't go for the bag, her expressions are hilarious! Actually I find this funnier. Who knows, purrhaps June was suspicious of a booby-trap.
ReplyDeleteLOL! June, are you messing with your MOM?! BTW, our June Bug sent out a howdy to you in one of our posts, check it out: https://www.catscue.com/posts/june-bug/
ReplyDeleteCan't believe we missed that post (have just left a comment). They are so much alike ... right down to each having one pink jelly bean toe! Amazing!
DeleteSounds like the perfect ending for a June story BOL! Always keeping her Mommy guessing!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
I smiled. You could have guessed "the end". She can be a rascal.
ReplyDeleteI love a surprise ending. I thought she was going to be in the bag. XO
ReplyDeleteAhahaha, The Day the Cat Slacked Off makes a good story too!
ReplyDeleteYou spoiled your mom's fun, June. Maybe if she tipped the bag over you would crawl inside to see if anything is in there. We love your beautiful new header.
ReplyDeleteJust like life, not every story has a fairy-tale ending. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteI think she was suspicious of your intentions MOL
ReplyDeleteMaybe sweet June was waiting to see if that bag was ever gonna get bigger.
ReplyDeleteHmm. We guess that bag wasn't Juney's bag today.
ReplyDeleteThe two of you know how to entertain yourselves. A cat next to a bag is inevitable
ReplyDeleteGood work, June! Dunno how you resisted the urge to knock that bag over but it may have been a trick.
ReplyDeleteBOL, if the bag doesn't have any food in it, none of us are interested, either. Maybe you've got some canine somewhere back in your ancestry, June! XOX Xena, Lucy and Chia
ReplyDeleteOona: "Oona would totally be in that bag!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Don't you think it's a little small?"
Oona: "Oona is also a little small!"
Chaplin: "But the dog might want to shred it."
Oona: "NOBODY SHREDS OONA'S BAG!!!"
