Mine Mommy went out yesterday morning.
Walking in the rain.
When she came home she had a pretty sticker on her rain jacket.
And she was holding two stuffed toys ~
one was red, and one was blue.
I thought the toys were for me, but they weren't!
She'd borrowed them from somewhere for a minute, just to take pictures of them.
Want to know more? Read on ...
The toys were a red Republican elephant, and
a blue donkey Democrat.
The sticker from her rain jacket is now on the calendar on our refrigerator.
And she 'splained to me that it was Primary Voting Day in Maryland.
She said it's just as important to vote in the primary as it is in the
national election.
I don't get to vote (but I think I should!) and me and mine Mommy are
never going to tell anyone how to vote or who to vote for
(though we sure would like to) but we would like to remind everyone everywhere
to please vote in all elections.
Lots of peoples in lots of places
all over the world (and us cats 'n' dogs, too) don't get to vote,
but when you do, you should!
If the day comes when you can't, you'll be awfully sorry.
And especially us women need to remember that it has only been a short time since we were not allowed to vote and to keep voting so that we can vote.
ReplyDeleteI second what MadSnapper said and I think you should be allowed to vote and to play with the cute stuffies, Juney!
ReplyDeleteAllways good to know
ReplyDeleteGood advice!
ReplyDeleteI vote whenever I can, even the primaries. The Hubby scoffs, and won't go. There is a line from an old TV show called "Monk", spoken by his assistant: "I don't vote. It only encourages them".
ReplyDeleteEvery vote counts!!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Sunny & Rosy
Well the critters are adorable.
ReplyDeleteYep I agree somethings are not to be discussed too many very very strong feelings.
Hugs Cecilia

ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to June. ♥
Good reminder, June, it's so important to vote!

ReplyDeleteWe always vote. It saddens me when people don't vote or realize what a privilege it is. XO
ReplyDeleteYou are a responsible citizen who wants her opinion to count. I hope the outcome reflects the spirit of democracy which I believe is still foremost in the minds of the majority.
ReplyDeleteYour Mommy is so right, June. And this year is one of the most important years ever to get out there and vote.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Misty and Timber
That's a great message, June. It's too bad your mom wouldn't let you play with those toys.
ReplyDeleteI always do!
ReplyDeleteWe always vote sweet June and we've got quite a collection of those little stickers too!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, can you imagine candidates targeting a dog and cat voting audience...
ReplyDeleteLOVE That image with June and the political critters—she looks so dead serious and is conveying a strong message of having to vote!
ReplyDeleteFunny sticker, we got the Georgia Peach on it and I voted early on May 1st after seeing my primary care doctor.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Mommy is right, Juney. Every vote is so, so important!
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Things would definitely be better if we cats were in charge."
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, or us dogs, right?"
Charlee: "Ha ha ha ha! No."
Woo hoo for your mommy, June! We agree that everyone, EVERYONE needs to get out there and vote. It couldn't be more important now.
ReplyDeleteYou look like you just picked the million dollar case
ReplyDeleteYes, I vote, it is a right and privilege and many wish they had it who do not, too many for me to waste mine.
ReplyDeleteWe're very supportive of voting, be it in a primary, caucus or election. Too many people complain but don't bother voicing their opinions by voting and when you vote in a primary (or caucus) you get to chose who goes on the election ballot. Good on your Mommie, June! ❤️ 🤍 💙
