THANKFUL THURSDAY ~ To Search for Purrsents, or Not To Search?

So, I was really HAPPY this morning.  This big box arrived from Chewy.  Sure, I knew it would have my foodz in it.  But bein' as Christmas is so close, I suspected there'd be some purrsents in there for me, too.  And even though I'd had no success all last week in finding any of the ones hidden away, this was a chance for a peek.

As always she sets the box on the kitchen floor.  Next, out comes all that wonderful crunchy paper, which of course, I love.  So, it's quite natural, just an ordinary always-kind-of-thing for me to jump into the paper pile!  She won't be suspicious at all.

And here, from my secret place, I can watch the unboxing.  After the foodz get put in the cupboard and my drawer (always drawer number three), then I'll surely see her unbox a gift or two or three or four or more ... meow!  I'll be so very quiet.  I won't move a whisker, I won't even allow this paper pile to crunch, she'll never know I'm watching ...

Unfortunately, things don't always go according to plan.  Tucked into my paper pile, peeking out and watching mine Mommy, I suddenly felt the call of nature, and it was calling loud and hard.  It was only for a few moments I'm quite sure that I scurried off to the litter loo room ~ and so anxious to return to my post I committed the inexcusable sin of "not even covering up" (just this one time, mind you) ~ and what did I find back in the kitchen, what did my eyes see?

Oh horror of horrors!  No box.  No paper pile.  Not even mine Mommy at first glance. Then I saw her, quietly working at her 'puter.  And over by the TV, sat a big empty box.  And by the day bed, a paper tent!  My moment in time gone, lost forever, no peeking, no unboxing, no discovery of purrsents to be ~

So the search goes on ...

THANKFUL THURSDAY

  8. June..Mom told me what fun she had as a little girl looking for presents but she learned when she found them that not having the fun of seeing them first time on Christmas broke her from rummaging around. Now I don't hunt (too much!) and you should think it over before you do.

  19. Luckily curiosity didn't kill the cat, but it sure disappointed it. Looks like you have to wait till Christmas to see those pressies, June.
