LBSKG (SK... EsKay)... is quite the good mother. It turns out she did not move her brood to far away, just behind the fence under an old wood pile covered with vines, berries and fallen palm fronds. Quite a safe little home she chose! It also turns out there are three little ones -- not two as we'd thought. They now squeeze under or through the fence line and are coming out to explore and play. EsKay always keeps a close watch on them, is very alert to her surroundings and can sometimes be seen shooing them back into the nesting area. EsKay has even started to rest in the towel-lined box we put out for her, after ignoring it for nearly two weeks. The kittens appear to be clones -- two are all black as best we can see, though one may have some tiger striping. They're still a bit wobbly on their feet and hesitant to go far... but it is an absolute joy to watch them. And I'm so lucky as they are just a few feet beyond my window, behind my computer desk... so I find myself being a frequent observer throughout the day. Perhaps soon, EsKay will bring the little trio to the porch for some water and solid food... we keep hoping. And I hope soon to be able to photograph them...
That sounds so cute! I look forward to seeing pictures of the little tykes :) They are lucky they oicked your yard.
