Dear Friends ~ this is a favorite personal photo of mine, the hand of my toddler grandson caressing the hand of my elderly Mother, his great grandmother. It is an old photo as my Mom has since left us. The song is also a favorite ~ especially when sung by the fabulous Louis Armstrong. If I had music playing here on Zoolatry, that is what you would be hearing.
It is truly a wonderful world because of all of you. Saved in my email box are well over a hundred notes from you (and many comments here on Zoolatry as well). Over time, I'll be responding individually.
Supportive, caring, overflowing with friendship and warmth, and I thank each and every one of you who has taken time from your own busy days to reach out to us. I haven't enough words to say how much this has meant to me, how much it has helped me. It has been a rough week, well perhaps a rough two weeks, or a rough month ... and extending that backwards, some recent rough years.
It is Friday here on the east coast of Florida, another hot and humid and likely stormy day. But I believe it will be a good day as I am hopeful of bringing Vic home later this afternoon. It is likely we'll have the support of some in-home care for awhile, and some in-home physical therapy (if approved by insurance!!!) as he is not yet back to good health. Without detailing all that happened, it appears likely that this weeks hospitalization was a result of complications that evolved after last weeks radioactive-embolization procedure. After effects like his are quite unusual, and were not anticipated. But they happened nonetheless and sent him to the edge ...
On a lighter note ~ I am now off to give Maggy and Zoey some "lessons" on how not to "trip up" our Poppy Vic as he tries to navigate his way around the house. And Zoey in particular, will have to stay after school and be taught how not to jump all over the bed, squeaking and trying to wake us up ... sigh.
Thank you all.
Fondly, Ann
It amazes us how you keep thinking of others, even in this very trying time. The blogosphere is truly lucky to have you, and I'm hoping that you get your Poppy Vic home and healthy very, very soon.

from the mom - It doesn't matter really whether it has been a week or two, a month or a year - when times are rough and trying, they seem like an eternity. But yet, here you are - you made it through - I hope and pray you CAN bring Poppy Vic home and please know that while you have people there that will help with the physical support you need, you have people here in Blogville and Catosphere to give you all the spiritual and moral supports we can. She seems to know when I'm going to wake up and make a trip into the bathroom and I try to get back to sleep and she is doing her gymnastics and it's hard to get back to sleep. She finally quits but sometimes it's to late and I can't get back to sleep.
