CATURDAY ART ~ Go Team!

ON THE FIELD

Sometimes it's fun to photoshop something other than the cats 'n' the dogs ... as this past Saturday was the final game of the season for my grandboys soccer team (mostly 3rd graders) ... lots of photos were taken, on and off the field.  Sad to say this year was one of more losses than wins, but the team seems not to care much about that (which is good) as they are all having fun and learning with each practice, scrimmage and game.  Also sad to say that because of an exceptionally rainy autumn, all too many games have been cancelled, along with the make-up games (!) and those that did get played were often on overly muddy, wet fields.  But again, this doesn't seem to matter a lot to the boys.  And, there's always next spring ... Go Team!
This image was a true exercise in patience, and keeping a steady hand.  With the pets, I can be a little bit free with silhouetting, after all, they do have "furry" edges and outlines for the most part.  But silhouetting a "human" ... well, this was certainly a challenge!  And I'm still not sure (not happy) that the soccer ball really doesn't look like it is being "held" in his hand(s), but after what seemed like 101 tries to get that right, I sort of settled for second best.

Now we're off to join Caturday Art, sponsored each weekend by
Athena and Marie, why not add your creative image there!

  1. Love that having fun was the focus. At his age it should be.

  2. Ghostwriter remembers when sibling #1 of 4 played little league baseball. He was on the losing-est team. But they were all very proud of it!

  5. Ann, you do not give yourself enough credit!!! This is a beautiful creation and it looks perfect to us!!! None of the grands plays soccer any more, but it sure is a fun game, and the kids get some really good exercise from it. Better luck with the weather and field conditions next season.
