Toys aren't a big deal for me, but Mom does turn some into "interesting" things. She makes all the wall-art for our little apartment, and one day she trimmed the edge off some photo paper, it fell to the floor and "cat's meow", it became one of my absolute favorite play things. Why that little strip of photo paper is something I can play with for hours!
The other day it was a whole new game when she wound one up inside one of my spring toys, like putting it behind bars in jail! At first I wasn't quite sure what this was all about ~ it looked really strange laying there on my polka-dot chair, and I was a wee bit cautious about approaching it.
But then ~ of course I did, my paw reached out ~ yes, it was my paper-toy, do you know it took me almost an hour to get it out of that danged spring toy! But I'm thankful I got it freed from behind bars! Sadly it is lost again. Mom says there's lots of paper-toys under the refrigerator. I'll be thankful if and when we move sometime and I get them all back.
Now I have to go see what my friends are thankful for today, so I'll hop over to Brian's Home . . .
sprinng toys are fabulous... and maybe if you play with it we will get spring earlier?
ReplyDeleteThere is no need to spend a lot of money on cat toys because you kitties love to play with simple things most humans would just be throwing away like paper bags and boxes, scraps of paper, paper balls, etc. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun trying to free your paper toy.
ReplyDeleteVery creative of your mom! It's true that kitties (and human babies) will play with the simplest things, often ignoring any expensive toys. :-)
ReplyDeletethis is too precious for words. so are you June... my friend did not buy toys for Moses, her cat. she said he did not need them, her condo was full of toys, just like yours is... his favorite thing of all was on shoppig day she got ONE paper bag and put it on the kitchen floor. it lasted until the next week and Moses hid things in it all week. like her watch and other jewelry
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun and playful thankful sweet June. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful idea your Mom had, and it looks like fun Juney.
ReplyDeleteMy kitty, Burton, loved a ball of crumpled foil. He'd bat it around for hours till it ended up under the fridge.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the simplest things in life bring the most joy. You sure had fun with that little strip of paper.
ReplyDeleteYou're most adorable, Miss June. I know you bring your mom such joy. All of us too.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your mom. ♥
Some of the bestest toys are the ones that don't cost anything and they can entertain you for a long time.
ReplyDeleteOur favorites are pipe cleaners! Some cat found the package where Mom had it stored with craft stuff and a whole package is scattered throughout the house, we think we will have them all under the refrigerator by Ground Hog Day! BTW, we LOVE your picture of Mark and the cats! Have a marvellously Happy Cat!
ReplyDeleteOMC another thing we have in common! I LOVE my spring toys!! I carry them around proudly. Have to try the paper trick with it, love, Roary
ReplyDeleteSome of the best toys are scraps of paper as our Lucy will tell you! She even will pull out my paper bookmark and try to chew it!
ReplyDeleteThat does sound like fun. XO
ReplyDeleteAlways the way! Pay a fortune for a cat toy it gets ignored! Clip off a strip of paper and OMG!!! It's the best MOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteNobody likes those springs like our Rumpy. Now you have giving us a new idea June thanks
ReplyDeleteJuney, I have one word for your human: yardstick!
ReplyDeleteWe're thankful for our toy box. The Human will pick up the toys we scatter through the house and put them in the bottom of the box. Then she gets them out one day and it's pawty time! It's as good as getting new toys.
ReplyDeletePurrs & Head Bonks,
Alberto
Mom always some of the best toys are really not toys at all:) We love an old sock or an old shoe:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
That looks like lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your person created a puzzle for you, and you, smart thing, solved it!
ReplyDeleteMy angel kitty cat cousin, Maddie, aka Medusa, aka the Kitten Overlord, loved to play with little everyday things. She especially loved the netting bqgs that onions come in, and bottle caps, and plastic twist ties, and plastic bags. (I wish my kids had been that easy to redirect!)
ReplyDeleteMommy says she should get a cat because dogs require toys and cats like discarded things.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be at that for the rest of the year.
