Displeasure. Annoyance. Irritation. Umbrage.
All choice words, per the dictionary I consulted, to express how I felt. All day long ~ seriously, hour upon hour, she was all over me. With that d*#!!ed cell phone, one picture after another. Snap, snap. Click, click. Was I displeased, yes. Annoyed, absolutely. Irritated, beyond and above. Finally, I said, "enough is enough". I gave her this look. Best described by the best word I found during my search: umbrage! Don't you just love that word? It means being rude and showing no respect. I love the way it sounds. I love the way it rolls off my tongue and out of my mouth. Next time your pawrent disrespects you, show a little umbrage ... and guess what, a synonym often used is ...
having a hissy fit!
yep enuff is enuff... we agree ;o))
ReplyDeleteWay to show your Cattitude, June! The eyes have it.
ReplyDeleteYup, that camera in your face too many times can get to be too much!
ReplyDeletethe weims and Beau could copy and paste your post dear June, because they feel the exact same way.. even taking a poop isn't sacred, Beau says thanks for the new word, he has been showing it but did not know how to say it.. Beau said to tell you his mama is really good at having hissy fits
ReplyDeleteOh June, your expression is exactly the same as in the photo I took of Flynn when I interrupted his tree climbing. He must have taken umbrage too.

ReplyDeleteMerriam-Webster says: "A feeling of pique or resentment at some often fancied slight or insult"
ReplyDeleteFANCIED?!? Oh no you did't!!!!
Oh June.....I know how you feel. My Mom is always all over me - fortunately not with the flashy machine but with hugs and stuff which is just as bad. I know I'm adorable but does she have to hug me SO MUCH? We for "umbrage" - it's a funny word - sounds like it's a type of umbrella....
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
