(UN)HAPPY TUESDAY

Displeasure.  Annoyance.  Irritation.  Umbrage.

All choice words, per the dictionary I consulted, to express how I felt.  All day long ~ seriously, hour upon hour, she was all over me.  With that d*#!!ed cell phone, one picture after another.  Snap, snap.  Click, click.  Was I displeased, yes.  Annoyed, absolutely.  Irritated, beyond and above.  Finally, I said, "enough is enough".  I gave her this look.  Best described by the best word I found during my search: umbrage!  Don't you just love that word?  It means being rude and showing no respect.  I love the way it sounds.  I love the way it rolls off my tongue and out of my mouth.  Next time your pawrent disrespects you, show a little umbrage ... and guess what, a synonym often used is ...

having a hissy fit!

  5. Oh June, your expression is exactly the same as in the photo I took of Flynn when I interrupted his tree climbing. He must have taken umbrage too.

  6. Merriam-Webster says: "A feeling of pique or resentment at some often fancied slight or insult"

  7. Oh June.....I know how you feel. My Mom is always all over me - fortunately not with the flashy machine but with hugs and stuff which is just as bad. I know I'm adorable but does she have to hug me SO MUCH? We for "umbrage" - it's a funny word - sounds like it's a type of umbrella....

    Hugs, Teddy

Hissy fits seem a bit scary to us though...so we'll just visit you instead, Junie!

  15. Love that word and wish I'd thought of it. Hope you show your displeasure by keeping her up all night or with your teeth. Those are my methods.
