ONCE UPON AN ECLIPSE

Yesterday, here ~ not so much,
A few silly and perhaps confused birds flying by.
Ever so slightly darker and cooler ... but, I have ...

great and grand memories of the "last one",
enjoyed together with my
then young grand, it was a spectacular sight to see!

  2. I recall a solar eclipse when I was very little; we used the holes in Saltine crackers to watch the progression.
Events like these are personal history, aren't they?

  3. Ann this post is surely a wonderful memory of your Grandson's first eclipse.

  4. We were in the path of totality, but had cloudy skies so we weren't able to see the eclipse. It did get completely dark for a few minutes and that was interesting to experiece outside listening to what the nature around us was doing.

  5. We were clouded out this time but in 2017, we did get to see a partial. I took lots of pics of the extremely weird light in the woods. I posted them, with the sassy editing help of a street cat we adopted the next day; I'd already decided to name her Ultraviolet.

  6. Lovely memory. I managed to totally avoid the eclipse altogether taking care of several commitments and cleaning up after all the weekend damaging winds. I was too busy to look up even if I'd had the glasses! 😊

  8. We had clouds and rain. The one before that, yes, it was amazing.

I'm glad you and your grandson got to share the special event last time.

  10. What a precious memory, Ann! We had about 92% here, which was pretty cool. It was fascinating to watch the light change outside.

  11. Java Bean: "Ayyy, it was only a 50% eclipse here! The light got a little weird, but we barely noticed!"
