Our internet remains unreliable, going out periodically, for hours at a time. We've been unable to post regularly, or visit/comment on other blogs.
This is not related to any hurricanes, storms or "Boolatry Ghosts". A major underground gas leak and subsequent fire 2-blocks south on our street (Sunday 9/29, early a.m.) caused widespread power loss throughout downtown Baltimore. It also damaged major cable and internet lines. Several buildings were destroyed, will be condemned. The street and sidewalk are closed for several blocks and likely will remain closed for some time to come.
The repair work needed is extensive and is causing the repeated loss to the cable and internet connections and the provider is not always being allowed in due to the dangerous conditions. As I write, there has been no published time table for completion of any repair work.
We'll post as we can, when possible. We'll visit with you as we can, when possible.
Yet we know our loss is small compared to the many friends throughout the South who suffer as a result of Hurricane Helene. And we worry for our immediate family (Tampa and Orlando) and many good friends and fellow bloggers who are now in the path of Hurricane Milton. Our thoughts go out to all of you and may each of you be safe in the days to come.
