Oldies But Goodies: Maggy's Worst Nightmare

"Some days it doesn't pay to get
out of bed in the morning," said Maggy.
If you could write a response caption
from Zoey... what would it be?

NATIONAL KIDS and PETS DAY

Jan's Funny Farm is holding a contest today,
for National Kids & Pets Day.
Be sure to stop by and visit at the Funny Farm,

Our photo files and archives have tons of wonderful and memorable photos of our children and their pets, and from more recent years, our grandchildren and their pets. We believe strongly that raising children with pets is very important ~ it helps the child to learn compassion and empathy, it teaches them responsibility and it helps them to understand unconditional love. For the past 2-months, we have been caring for our new grandson here at the Zoolatry home. He is now four months old. At first, he ~ and Maggy and Zoey ~ were all quite tentative towards one another. But as days have come and gone, all are accepting of each other. A few weeks ago, I (tentatively) put the baby on the porch rocker next to napping Zoey. I fully expected Zoey to wake and immediately dash off. But that did not happen. To my delight, they stayed beside one another... and even when Arjun pulled off his little hat, throwing it down, Zoey sat patiently, undisturbed. The interactions of children and animals is always amazing and heart warming to observe.

PHOTO HUNT: VERTICAL

Aren't I just the best kitty girl?
The ZH said that today's Photo Hunt was "vertical".
So I patiently sat still and allowed her to comb all my furs vertically!
I even sat still long enough for her to take a photo of me.
It looks kind of like one of those days-of-old-mohawk-hair-do's!
And NO friends: this is NOT a photoshopped picture!
Oh yes, I am a very good kitty girl.
