IF IT'S SUNDAY ~ IT'S FOOTBALL!

I know, meow, I know.  Mine Mommy said we I wouldn't be back on Zoolatry
until October ... but then I pawed at her with a reminder 'bout our RAVENS ... so, of course ...

I quickly pawed over to Fayette Street, and tossed a few pennies
for good luck on Edgar's infamous marker at Westminster Hall ...

today our Baltimore Ravens meet up with the Kansas City Chiefs!

We're rather well known rivals
and each standing 1-2 in the rankings right now.
As always, may the best team win!

And yes, once again, we share a warm and friendly rivalry
who will of course, root for their Chiefs!

And one more thing, if anyone is curious about the Poe pennies,

THANK YOU, TERRY! ~ UPDATING, WITH COMMENTARY

Thank you, Terry ...

I posted the above around 4:30 am today.  Now, I feel compelled to update this post with my own comment.
Yesterday, I sent a blind-copy email to over 400 bloggers in our pet community.
Some are active daily bloggers, others posting only parttime, and many
no longer blogging at all, but have always asked to "stay on my list".
I've received volumes of replies to that email, all positive, in agreement.

I shared the post and remarks from the Editor of The Cat Blogosphere,
Terry Frum, announcing that he will retire at the end of the year
and giving his reasons why.
One reason being he was wrongfully called out by an individual, one who is not
even someone who posts or is active in our pet community!  Why?

Well, we can only speculate.
I'd suggest that if this person lived in the USA he/she might have become infected
by all the nasty political rhetoric and ease of
speaking hate talk rampant in our nation today.

But no, this one is across the pond ... so this disease is spreading far and wide.
Social media.
Once meant to be a place for friendship and sharing, not now.
Blogging, whether for our beautiful pets ... travel, recipes, family, or more.
Contaminated and damaged by hateful words.

So, this person should look in the mirror, but only darkness will look back.

The rest of you reading this will, I believe, look in the mirror
and you will see light reflected and goodness.
And I like to think that will lead all to no longer share words of hurt.
No longer share names.  No longer call out others, and not to lay blame at
someone's feet, even if righteous, for such will only prolong this.
And this must stop.
Stop.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I is here today to say "thank you".
Thank you for stopping by my bloggie, for continuing to visit me, to even leave
nice comments for me (and for mine Mommy).
Especially since we have not taken time to visit you ~ for which I do apawlogize.
All is well 'n' good 'n' fine 'n' healthy 'n' all that stuff here.
Mine Mommy just seems extra busy (like she isn't even giving me my brushies enough,
can you believe it?!) ... and as soon as she checks one thing off her list, she adds two more!
Meow.
Anywayz.  We're thankful for all of you.  Meow, we sure are.  I sure am.
We're keeping comments off.
She says we'll purrably come back like in October.  I hope so, I do miss all of you, fur sure.
That's my "I'm sad look in my picture."
Love from June.

AWWW MONDAY ~ ABOUT AN AWWW-SOME DAY

One day last week was really awww-some for mine Mommy.
And me too, kinda sorta.
She took a tour of the M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore RAVENS.
  Now "pets" weren't allowed, but I snuck
into her backpack and made no meows, so no one knew I was there!
We gots to see lots 'n' lots of things, and there weren't too many peeples
in the group, so it felt very purrsonal.
She said it was great, cause with ticket prices the way they are today,
she'll likely never go to a real game ... so this was the next best thing.
We won't bore you with all the details, or too many pik-shurs,
as most of you have your own fave home town teams,
but here are just a few ...

Waiting to enter the locker rooms ... the coaches offices, and more.
Famous images of famous players, legends on the walls inside.
The sauna, the exercise and weight room, a family area, even a child care center.

Looking down on the field from one of many sky boxes.
This is one of the largest (most expen$ive, at $300,000. per season
with a 5-year contract and no extras, all extras cost extra!!!).  Luxury appointments of
course, currently under contract to Under Armour.
A side note: RAVENS uniforms are by NIKE.  When Under Armour contracted for this box some years ago,
the CEO hired an artist to carefully "retouch" the many
classic team paintings throughout the room.  These team paintings showed
the NIKE logo on uniforms which was "offensive" to Under Armour and it
needed to be whited-out.  Oh my.

Back down to the locker room [lowest level] ...

As we exited from the locker room, as the players do when charging out onto the
field at the start of the game,
one sees this small sign: a dedication to those who play on the field by those
who built it many years before.  And over these years, this field has seen many
great players come and go.  It has seen far more wins than losses.
It has brought pride and joy to Baltimore.

Monday Night Football
Ravens vs Detroit Lions

Now, here's the thing:
we adore little Roary and Levi over at

All last season we shared a friendly rivalry,
both our teams did well,
and surely we'll carry that forward this season
right, Caren?
As we meet tonight, can only say,
"may the best team win".
GO RAVENS!

THE PIRATES OF 2025

This is a political comment.

June wears a "red hat".  Not by choice.
Only as a statement, immediately removed from her sweet furs after creating this image.
When I first did her image for today, her hat read "Unmask Ice Agents".
That issue then dominated the news.
However, for any who follow news daily, as I do, it changes fast.

Distraction the key word.  Chaos each day to intentionally cause stress,
concern, drama, confusion and worse - to all.
It matters not whether one is left, center left, a true conservative
[as that word once meant], or progressive.
Think a moment. Is it not ideal to have left and right eyes to see clearly?
Those who think and reason for themselves cannot be blinded
by the attempts at distraction.  Those who care about rights and
democracy and our Constitution cannot avoid and ignore the truth of
all that is happening before our eyes.
Remember Scarlett's infamous line from Gone With the Wind?
"I'll think about that tomorrow."
Tomorrow will be too late.

This administration is destroying individual freedoms and rights
created, fought and died for, our foundation for nearly 250 years.
No longer day by day, but hour by hour.
The dismantling of valuable and worthwhile federal agencies
and employees that served American citizens and populations worldwide.
Attacks on immigrants, citizen/non citizen/legal/or not/who cares:
little or no concern for status, masked, unidentifiable: all about numbers.
Grab now, ask questions later, if at all.
Attacks on law firms, requiring pro bono, so called "charitable" work
and so called "donations" to so called "entities".
Attacks on universities and colleges, private and public, destroying
and threatening decades of research, withholding grant funding,
student visas and even suggesting how faculty should teach.
Attacks on independent and corporate media -
newspapers, television, magazines and podcasters - journalists, reporters -
intimidated by potential removal of licensing or lawsuits.
Attacks on public health.
Attacks on our environment.
Attacks on small businesses.
Attacks on farmers.
Attacks on sports teams.
Attacks on arts and entertainment.
Attacks on museums.
Attacks on comedians.

Attacks on ____________ [fill in the blank].

The Pirates of 2025 are here.
Are everywhere.
And they attack
arbitrarily and by force.

I CAN HELP

June wants furriends to know that regardless of remarks (negative ones)
often posted here by her Mommy, her assistance with recent computer
issues has been very beneficial.  As anyone can see (photo above) she has
put her paws-of-love into this process of transferring files and data,
each and every day, and under oath, and penalty of purr-jury will state:

~~~
"I have worked long and hard, under duress, without payment of treats
or extra brushies, to accomplish this task in a timely manner.
To date all my hundreds of thousands of extraordinary and priceless
photographs have successfully been moved from the "old to the new"!
I do admit that I don't care one whisker about her documents which are
meaningless to me, nor do I give a tail's swish about what she calls
the impawtent financial data!
Apurrently these silly things are still in progress and
requiring what she says are some "manual tweaking"
on her part, in spite of the Cloud and the One Drive which don't do
tweaking-stuff.
So, I'm told that we I will be absent from here
temporarily while said tweaking is completed.
Thank you, your honor."
The Mom's Note: June no longer has her furs standing on end.
The Mommy is no longer pulling her hairs out.
The RAVENS beat the Browns yesterday.
And all is well.
Just got things to do, places to go, and people to see,
kinda sorta, as June would say!  Meow.
HUGGABLE HOUNDS ~ TIPPI 💕 RUBY
It's HUG YOUR HOUND DAY and here are two that are so, so very
huggable, kissable, cuddly and without any question ~ lovable 💕!
On the left, meet Tippi Jingle and to her right, Ruby Noel.
These little sisters were born on Christmas day and are
Teddy Roosevelt terriers.  They share happy days and nights with
their pawrents in a sleepy, little town in the Ocala area of
northwest Florida.  And yes: they get an abundance of hugs and cuddles!
Whether spending a little time in their "puppy palace", on the back porch, roaming 'round
the acres of land ~ or inside on someone's warm lap, it's the good life for these little huggables.
Although I've been friends with their pawrents for many years, since my life
and years in the Sunshine State, when I asked if I could "steal them away",
the response was a resounding "no" heard all the way from
Florida to Maryland!  Easy to understand why ...
Though we're celebrating Huggable Hounds today,
and there are many all 'round the "Cat" Blogosphere ...
please forgive us for one moment as we go purple ~
JUST ANOTHER POST ABOUT NOTHING MUCH
Mine Mommy has had a lot on her plate (that's some silly human expression).  There's never a lot on my plate, er, in my bowl, so to speak.  I mean the minute there is, well, it's gone in another minute!  And yes, yesterday, she finally (FINALLY) remembered to give me foodz.  That is purrably evident in my rather "rotund" images below, sigh. In any case, it's not just all the 'puter stuff, she's sold her old/old car and has been setting up "home delivery for foodz", for her (mine was already set up).  It didn't go so well the first time, she did the online order wrong!  And all the paperwork with selling the car (more online) ... and a few other stuffs I'll not go into ... Anywayz, when she plopped down in our my polka dot chair I offered to pose nicely for a picture for today, so she wouldn't have to worry about my bloggie post, wasn't that nice of me?  I did my very best.  Whether she did her very best is open to question.
FOODZ
 See me.  Up there in the left corner.  See my foodz bowl just to the right of my paw.
Do you see that it has not got foodz in it?  Meow, I'm sure you see that it is empty.
Notice my picture on the right.  I am looking down at the very empty foodz bowl.
It is because it is past time for me to have foodz.
And I have hungerz in my tummy.  And she who fills the foodz bowl is not paying attention.
And yes I am now actually dozing off waiting and waiting for my
foodz bowl to be filled with foodz.
If you happen to comment would you please remind her
to fill my foodz bowl.  Apurrciated.  Meow.
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY
It is necessary for me to remain wordless,
not even a simple meow,
for the other purrson in this studio is uttering so many unthinkable
words, well, if I could wear a little hat to cover my ears ~
I would if I could ~
I do know this too shall pass, right?
NOT A HAPPY TUESDAY, NOT REALLY
So, this was once upon a time - well, it was just last week, actually.
When the old computer and the new computer were shaking paws and chatting with each other.
They shared a lot of secrets.  Some secrets they kept to themselves.
And some secrets, they shared, but they hid them and mine Mommy hasn't
yet found where they are hidden.  She says "drats cats".
The little older one on the left is only a 10 and the bigger one on the right is 11,
and so the 11 year old is kinda sorta being a bully to that younger kid,
like kids do on the playground sometimes ...
So, the end result of all this is that sometimes,
mine Mommy sits down and does this, or that, or that or this,
until she looks at our windows (I am speaking here of regular windows,
the kind I bird-watch from, not the ones you capitalize that run on computers,
you know, Windows).  Our windows, up so high, 16 floors you know and she gives
considerable thought to tossing both 10 and 11 out those windows
(if not jumping out them herself, which I encourage her not to do, as
I do need my meals and treats).
When that happens she ups and walks away for a long time,
decides NOT to post on my blog here, and NOT to visit your blogs,
and I sit in her chair, but without those opposable thumbs
I can't do much either.
I just hope things return to normal before it's time for Boolatry, and
all t'other fun stuff that happens soon ...
meow.
CATURDAY ART ~ SATURDAY'S CRITTERS
We've often said that June is not a lap cat.
She will come up, sit beside me when it is time for brushies.  Beside me only.
Jumping back down the very moment brushing is over.
Once, only once in her five-plus years here was I pleasantly surprised when
she did jump up, sit in my lap.  I have since forgotten when or how long that special time was,
or how long it lasted ... but here are two photos captured.
PURPLE FRIDAY
 WELCOME TO OUR FIRST PURPLE FRIDAY
After a 3-0 pre-season our Baltimore Ravens will be on the field this Sunday ~
at Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY, home to the Buffalo Bills, 1-2 for their pre-season.
Yet they are a great team, opening with home field advantage,
a power-house quarterback and not to be lightly dismissed.
We're pretty sure our friend WALTER (over here) will be watching and
rooting for them.  Mine Mommy allows a "little bit" of herself to root for lots
of other teams from time to time (quietly of course, meow).  This is kinda sorta
one of them, cause she was born in Buffalo, family still lives there.
And you might even see her give a paws up for those neighbors, the
Commanders (formerly Redskins, ssshhh), as they were her hometown team
for like forever.  And for awhile, some teams up in Michigan, that mitten state
and Florida, the sunshine state, after all, when you live in those places,
well, you know ... you wear those hats, sometimes you wear 'em!
But now, today, and this season.
GO RAVENS
THANKFUL THURSDAY: Real & Fake & Truth
Mine Mommy is always thankful when she gets what she says is a
cute picture of me.  She said this upside down picture is cute.
It's only upside down 'cause she stood on the side of the chair to take the picture!
So, this is a REAL photo.
So, here's the thing.
If she turned it around, rotated it, in her Photoshop, it would be the
way I was, but not be a real photo because it was not the way she actually took the picture.
So the picture would be "fake".  Like all the "fake news" that's out there today!
  You know, like those word-salads someone posts as "truth",
but are light years away from being truthful!
So, top photo: REAL.
Bottom photo: Fake.
We're happy (mostly, except when playing with Photoshop) to only
show and share REAL photos.
And of course, I'm happy because as you know,
I'm a REAL cat. And that is the TRUTH.
BACK TO SCHOOL
 All the kids 'n' kits are back to school now.
And I'm not in kittengarten anymore!
I was kinda sorta worried about riding the skool bus since I'm real shy, but then
mine Mommy said I would be home skooled so I was very happy.
These are my new crayons to color with as long as I don't use them on rugs or furniture,
walls or blankies.  Only on paper, like to decorate my paper tents!
I wanted a backpack for skool.  Maybe I'll get one for my gotcha day.
And maybe some crayons that are littler and fit in my paws better ...
Meowing 'bout skool, mine Mommy is kinda sorta happy too.
Cause she works with a teacher who brings a group of high school students
here each week.  They are all drama students from the
Baltimore School for the Arts and it's really a cool thing she says,
where the "young and young at heart" get together.
The peoples here in this senior building come and together with these
students they all act out impromptu skits and little plays ... or sing,
no dancing, cause some here use walkers and canes!!!
They laugh with each other, tell stories, ask questions about life
and being young vs being not so young anymore.
Mine Mommy awards a door prize at the end each week and
gives everyone a "sweet treat" and we all look forward to
our next time together.
PUT YOUR HEAD ON MY PILLOW
 The two computers ~ out with the old, in with the new ~ sat there, doing their thing.
Lots of cords from one to t'other, shaking hands paws.
Trading secrets and silently conversing with one another in a language I would never know.
Sometimes even flashing lights at one another,
as if to say "wait a minute, do this, don't do that",
or maybe I'm just anthropomorphizing as we do with our pets all the time!
A friend, far more tech than me, had thankfully done all this magical set up on Sunday.
I doubt I'd have even known how to plug in this new big-little kitten, even
getting used to this wider keyboard, bigger monitor will be a challenge
for these old hands and eyes!
So, instead, my Monday was spent doing spring cleaning in the fall,
mostly things that never did get done back then.
Top of the list: wash June's blankies, all those used to cover protect chairs,
fill her blankie basket, so on and so forth, even a few random toys!
I replaced them temporarily with old sheets.
She sniffed at the sheets.  She pawed at the sheets.
She lifted one sheet up with her claws, knowing full well "not allowed" on the naked chair beneath.
Where to go, where to sit, where to nap ...
Meow.  The day bed. Why I can even
put my head on a pillow.  I'm happy, meow.
VANISHING POINT: CITY DAILY PHOTO, Baltimore, MD
Today, we are taking part in a new blog, CITY DAILY PHOTO,
and also one we have enjoyed for some time now, IMAGE-IN-ING.
Direct links to both of these can be found under the image below and on our sidebar.
They afford bloggers, we pet bloggers, an opportunity ~ to spread our paws, so to speak ~
and show a little different side of our photography, choosing photos from our home towns, our other lives.
You may want to visit these blog hops, take part from time to time, share a new adventure.
Driving on our way to somewhere, a friend paused long enough for me to snap a picture of The Emerson Tower, now best known as the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, in downtown Baltimore, on the West side.  We're featuring it here, for our first time to take part in the City Daily Photo blog hop, the September photo theme being "vanishing point".
Built between 1907-1911, until 1923 the tower held claim to being the tallest building in Baltimore, vanishing up toward the cloud filled sky, and even today stands tall in our city.  The Seth Thomas clock at its top has four faces looking East, West, North and South.
The tower was abandoned in 2002 until early 2007 when philanthropists began fundraising and worked to transform it into the Arts Tower it is today.  In 1973, the tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
