Thankful, that the fires seem to be subsiding.
Thankful, for all who emailed, commented and sent prayers for our safety.
Thankful, for the firemen, policemen & everyday folk who fought against these awful fires.
THANKFUL ... for Little Black Stray Kitty Girl ...
She still visits us, especially at breakfast and dinner time. And some afternoons she naps in the shade of our front porch. We cannot get close to her.
Thankful that mama raccoon has moved on and is no longer a danger to LBSKG and her little family of two.
Stray Kitty Girl has moved her family. We're not sure where, but believe they are still nearby. Perhaps when it is time for them to stop nursing and have some food, she'll bring them here for mealtime and we'll be able to see them.
THANKFUL ... for reconciliation ...
The Zoolatry Human is not always a sentimental human, but she does believe that often things happen for a reason, even though it cannot be seen at the time.
We had given up hope that our Maggy and Zoey would get together again; it has been nearly
3-months and we had still been keeping them separated, day and night, due to the fighting between them. The arrival of LBSKG seems to have been a blessing in more ways than one. We will call her the Peacemaker. Perhaps she came to our little corner of the world for a reason. Maggy and Zoey have shared window ledges to watch LBSKG at mealtime. They've run together on the porch to talk to her through window screens. Together they sit by the front door for a glimpse of her. They seem to have put aside their own differences of these past three months in order to share a common bond of curiousity about LBSKG. In some small way, LBSKG has been the catalyst (how appropriate that word sounds) that has brought them together again, something we humans were not able to achieve.
So, we are thankful for Stray Kitty Girl.
We just saw about the fires and we are so sorry! Thinking of you!

ReplyDeleteYFF,
Our beans have been watching the mews 'bout the fires and have friends & family there so they are glad for your family and everyone that the fires are getting contained. Toy & Tinker were starting to get into spats and after I was adopted things slowly got better. I became the peace maker and love all my brothers. We will be purring that things will get even better for you! =^Y^= Ty
ReplyDeleteSo maybe you should name her catalyst? Perhaps one day, if you keep calling her and talking to her, she will come by you. It takes a long time to learn trust.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the fires are going down. Some rain would certainly be nice though!
We are happy to hear about the peace-maker Stray Kitty... and sorry to hear you are close to the fires.
ReplyDeleteSending safety angels and thoughts your way!
