ABOUT LOVING and LEAVING

Zoolatry will not be posting for awhile.  Oh, Maggy and Zoey will still be around, of course.  But the Zoolatry Human leaves in a day or two to travel north with her beautiful daughter (also her best friend).

And with my wonderful and charming son-in-law and

my very much loved 21-month old grandson, JuneyBug.

After so many wonderful years of being blessed to have them

"just down the street" from us,

the time has come that they are moving on. 

New jobs, new home, new city, new life.

It is as it should be.  Though we are filled with happiness and hope for them,

my tears flow heavy and strong.

And this precious little guy ~ whom I've cared for since he was 10 weeks old, this

little guy who has been my light and my joy during some very difficult times,

my little one ~ I will miss you so.

PHOTO HUNT: WOODEN

Photo Hunt challenges us to find a photo each week, one of our own of course, that complements a certain category.  I sometimes have difficulty finding a photo that fits the category and still makes sense on a "cat" blog!  Photo Hunt appears on many blogs each Saturday, and you can click here to link to Photo Hunt, if you're interested in taking part.  Today's word is "wooden".  This is an old photo, and a favorite one, of my granddaughter looking up at Maggy and Maggy returning her gaze.  So, here we have a favorite girl and a favorite kitty together with a favorite antique dressing table. That's the "wooden" part.  I love this piece, rescued from an old farmhouse in southwestern Michigan, it was covered with several layers of black lacquered paint.  We brought it to Florida and turned it over to a master restorer.  He found it was made of many, many different woods, it is all tongue and groove, no nails anywhere, and even the casters are made of wood.  His restoration took months, as he restored each type of wood to its natural state.  His work was impeccable, I thank him.

      I've been reviewing the daily comments deposited from so, so many of our furriends!  You may remember Zo, that I have a somewhat flirtatious relationship with Bhu?  Well, Bhu wrote that during these tough times we should "bank on the friendship cultivated over recent years of blogging".   Bhu called IBZ "the bank of love and friendship" and I've even suggested to our advertising agency that we use that in our marketing campaign.  And so Zoey, what are you doing?

      Well, Mag, I'm making some withdrawals today! When we wrote to all our furriends about our Poppy, so many of them deposited wonderful and supportive comments into IBZ.  At the same time though, we became aware that many others were facing the very same health issues, or someone close in their family was, or their good friends were.  So, today, I'm making withdrawals of "love and friendship" and sending it back to all our wonderful friends who also need purrs and prayers.
      Zoey, sometimes you amaze me, you sweet thing.  We should tell everyone that our Poppy is doing purrty well right now.  He's started more treatments and some days are good, and some are not so good.  But we keep our paws up, our tails wagging and smiles on our faces (as much as cats can smile, that is)!  So, Zoey, please tell everyone that the love and friendship you're withdrawing and sharing is from all of us ~ with hugs and with thanks.
      Yes, Maggy, and be sure our furriends know that with IBZ they are earning  a very, very high interest rate. There are no service charges.  Bank statements can be downloaded here.

PHOTO HUNT: GREASY

I'm remembering an old advertising slogan, that went something like "nothin' says lovin' like somethin' from the oven!"  Well, nothin' is better than a big fat chick-hen and nobody does an oven stuffer roaster like my Poppy. Stuffed with sausage, and brown rice, mushrooms and spinach. And any minute now, that clucker there is gonna be artfully massaged, inside and out, with special olive oils and all kinds of exotic seasonings.  I mean, this is gonna be good, really, really good!  ZOEY: GET AWAY FROM THAT GREASY BIRD!

Today had been set aside for the lighthearted fun of MO Cats day.  But when we stopped over at The Cat Blogosphere early this morning, we learned the shocking and sad news that one of our very long time, and very special bloggers had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.
Cathy ~ caregiver to Beau, had fought against disability, health issues and other hardships for such a long time.  Yet she remained strong, she remained positive and upbeat, and held fast to her faith.  She published a second blog called Beau's Sunday Sermons.  In her last posting on August 14, 2011, she wrote,  "And, getting closer to God is our ultimate goal. We need to remove all the barriers in our lives that hold us back so that we can soar. So, my question for you to ponder this week is, "What is holding you back and handicapping you; And what are you going to do about it?" Love, Beau."
Cathy ~ the barriers are gone, there is no doubt that you are now soaring.  Farewell, friend ~ and blessings, gentle lady.

FRIENDS FRIDAY

There is no better friend of The Cat Blogosphere,

than our own ML ~ of the SHERWOOD KITTIES.

ML works tirelessly, every day and even weekends, often at her

own expense, keeping the "CB" up and running for all of us.

She fosters kitties, has found homes for the homeless ones, and is

always at the forefront when fundraising is needed for those in need.

Here in the U.S., it is Labor Day weekend ~ ML's work for each and every

one of us who enjoy the benefits and the fun of the CB is a Labor of Love.

She deserves our continuing thanks, a whole lot of purrs, and a big hug.

Stop by and share your apurrciation with her.

I also want to give thanks to Rose, of ROSE AND THE ROYALS.

A longtime blogger, a good friend of ML's and many others, it was Rose who found this

beautiful poem and who came to me with the idea that we honor ML

this weekend.  So, please give a big paws up to Rose!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

First, we want to wish our very good friend, Alfie Marshall,

from The Cat's Meow a happy, happy birthday. 
And birthday wishes to sweet Mommy Cat from
Jacqueline's Cat House.
We're thankful for our good friends and their families.

And Zoey wanted to share something she is thankful for.

Sometimes she gets hit in the head when JuneyBug throws his ball around.  And

sometimes they can have a little tug-o-war over the Lego's and other toys.

But one thing they share nicely and quietly is books. 

JuneyBug loves his books, loves being read to, and loves reading to Zoey. 

So both are learning lots of new words each and every day.

But then I overheard Zoey say ...

"can you get him to purrplease turn the page.  I learned

the word 'kitten' a long, long time ago!"
