MY MAGGY ~ Over Her Rainbow Bridge

Mary Margaret, her given name ~ but lovingly called Maggy, Mags, the Magster, Magoo or MagMags

At sweet sixteen, 2019, she crossed her rainbow bridge.  Born 2003 and adopted 2005.

A pure bred, tortie-point Himalayan with beautiful markings, and she knew it!  She displayed them proudly ~ the white star on her forehead, the gold/orange tipped furs on her ears and paws, the vanilla and chocolate chin, and her brilliant blue eyes, and that fur ~ long, lush, silky.
Never really a lap cat, only seeking affection on her own terms, letting the Siamese in her genealogy come forth, loud and clear when she wanted something, definitely a talker.  Gracious, elegant, independent.  If I were to sing a song of Maggy, I'd sing, "She's A Lady".

In 2013, when I moved from Florida to Maryland, it was with much sadness, that I could not bring Maggy with me for many reasons.  But I was blessed to find a "special angel", a former cat blogger who came forth and accepted her into a new home where she joined other kitties, received care and love and thrived over many years.  I will forever be grateful to this amazing friend who was there for me when I truly needed someone ~ someone warm, caring and loving to entrust my "heart cat" to.
With forever love and thanks to Maggy's "other Mother".

I knew the day would come, some future time, when she would carry the burden of sending sad news
to me ~ and now it has.  Beautiful Maggy has left, crossed her bridge.  It was peaceful.

Rest well my girl, I have always missed you, I have never stopped loving you.

Napping time photos ~ napping by Mom's stripey sox, napping by Poppy Vic's photo and a small  urn of ashes.

Our blog will remain silent for a few days in memory of Mags.

    1. Ann, I hope you know I loved her dearly. She seemed very happy here, altho Romeo thought she was his. She would choose a spot that was hers and let everyone it was her spot. Like the bookcase, or kitchen counter.. She sure showed her hemi side, no one was aloud to get in her space. The one thing I couldn't get her to do was sleep with me. But Isis, Romeo, and Sophie always claimed the bed, and she seemed content to rule the rest of the house at night. Just a little love and she would purr for me. But not for long, a few minutes and she had enough of me. Her illness came on so suddenly my vet did all she could. But nothing seemed to help. I feel like I didn't do enough, but it was so sudden. I didn't want to put her thru treatment that would make her feel miserable. I did what I thought was best and when it became to the point where she would not eat anything to keep her going, the vet and I knew she was not well and happy and in kidney failure, I let her go. I hope you know that I loved her like all the other kids. I have her ashes, if you want I will send them to you. Just let me know. I think she was happy here, she could do whatever she wanted and ate well. She liked her Friskies, and catnip toys. I wish I could have done more for her. I know she was your heart kitty, and I loved her too.

    2. Dearest Peggy, I know and understand all you have said and shared. No one could have ever been a better "mother" for Maggy and I will always be so happy you were the "one". Saying Thank You for the years, the love, the life you gave her seems so inadequate, yet I have no bigger words ... yes, you did love her, I know. Ann
