FALL FRIDAY ~ DOUGIE DOG DOES NATURE

A small part of the "back forty" is an untended area for the most part ... here, weeds grow wild, here leaves accumulate and we blow in the falling leaves from the rest of the yard, and there are a lot of them, many likely from last year!  They often become additions to one of the two ongoing compost bins.  Most for this year have hardly begun to fall ... are still green and clinging on!  But there are always enough for an energetic dog to romp and run in, his great big paws-and-claws almost serving as a natural mulching machine!
We're almost near the end of National Dog Week and it's been a joy to celebrate our much loved Dougie Dog ... and today we celebrate him by joining the NATURE FRIDAY Blog Hop, sponsored by our friends at  Living, Laughing and Barking in our Backyard.

  12. I know what "back forties" are like. We used to have about 5 acres of back forties at my parents' home. So much fun can be had back there.
