Today, as we begin to share the story of a new place, a new adventure, we'd be remiss if we didn't pause a moment to first say "thank you" for the new friend who will share this journey and adventure with us. As plans came together over this past summer, to "spread my wings" and live on my own once again after many, many years with family, I knew of course that I would want a pet in my life. I also knew that as soon as I un-packed those moving boxes (well, maybe even before they were all un-packed!) I'd be online, looking for a kitty to rescue, a kitty who would rescue me.
Very quickly, CHOWDER stole my heart. And within moments of seeing her photo at AARF I was completing an application. Soon worrying and wondering ~ would I qualify? What if I didn't meet all their criteria? But as you can see, my worries were for naught. So I am here to say Thank You to AARF, Animal Allies Rescue Foundation of Baltimore, MD. I know many of you support wonderful and amazing rescue groups in your own communities which is as it should be. But if you are in this area, may I suggest you consider AARF. I also want to give a "paws up" to Chowder's foster Mom, who made my adoption process smooth and easy, and I know she gave this little kitty girl a very good home.
One last thing today: my life began to change early this summer, decisions were being made and things being planned ... it all began in June. So, even though "Chowder" has just joined me in the last week, she is part of this new life, our journey together ... so she will be June. Also, fondly called Juney after another important Juney in my life.
