JUNE GOT A BIT HISSY 'BOUT DR. SEUSS DAY
INSISTED SHE HAD TO DO IT HER WAY!
INSISTED SHE HAD TO DO IT HER WAY!
YOU KNOW SHE LIKES BLUE, I SAID "BUT IT'S GOTTA BE RED 'N' WHITE"!
THEN HER CLAWS SHE PUT FORTH ... AND I DIDN'T WANNA FIGHT ...

AND NOW WE PURRSENT GRAND DOG DOUGIE
WHO WOULDN'T WEAR A HAT,
BUT SNUGGLED BY GRAMMY'S
STRIPED-SOX FOOTSIES,
THAT SETTLED THAT.
ONCE LONG AGO,
ANGEL MAGGY DID MUCH THE SAME,
BUT I PUT A HAT ON HER HEAD,
MUCH TO HER SHAME.
SILLY GIRL, SILLY KIT.
SHE'D DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING,
SHE CARED NOT A BIT,
WHAT ANYONE MIGHT THINK!
CAUSE WITH ZOEY ALL WAS FOR FUN,
IF IT TICKLED YOU PINK
HER JOB WAS DONE!

I accidentally wrote on yesterday's post for today, but this is what I wrote: Great Dr. Seuss post! I love the blue polka dotted hat better than the red striped one. Happy Dr. Seuss Day! XO

What a fun way to do Dr. Seuss Day!
ReplyDeleteI am sure Dr. Seuss appreciates your devotion to him.
ReplyDeleteI was a day late for Dr. Seuss, but he is forever in my heart and mind. Once my husband sold our Dr. Seuss books to a thrift store. I promptly replaced them at full monetary value! Our middle, herself a writer, said "Dad why did you try to take our childhood?" Those were lean times but we still have those books I replaced. No one gives a book away at this house, especially Dr. Seuss.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful post! One of my favorite memories is my late sister and I as adults doing an impromptu recital of Green Eggs And Ham at my late mom's. It was so much fun! Thanks for letting me know about the event. Did not have the margin to participate but look forward to visiting those who did! :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Friendship Friday is now live if you want to share your post so others can enjoy the hop too! :-)
