Every once in awhile, we allow ourselves some "bragging rights", so be warned that's what I'm about to do. What better "Grand" Mother's Day gift than to share in the graduation of your first grandchild from college! Yes, it was by live-stream, but still wonderful. I am so proud of this amazing young woman ~ talented, intelligent, hard working, focused, caring and kind. Proud of all she has achieved. And I am proud of the two parents who have raised her well, my son and daughter in law, and of her younger brother who has always been her friend and supporter. Yesterday, beneath an early morning Florida blue sky, she received her diploma ~ for a dual major, Magna Cum Laude, in the disciplines of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and was honored with induction to Phi Beta Kappa a few weeks earlier. This was not an easy road, it took effort and dedication and her journey ahead through medical school will take the same. But she'll do it. That's who she is. Way to go, girl. Love you ... always.
... with two of her study partners ...
Wowzers! That is quite an achievement and the road ahead will be long but she will succeed as it is the direction she has chosen to take. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteMedicine is a long hard road, but yes, in the end it will be all helpful to the world at large. My Niece is doing a residency now...she too is an MD...never in any of our families has there been an MD! And only a few nurse-types, LOL!
