VIEWING JUNE, 13


When my eyes, to this cat I love
Drawn as by a magnet's force,
Turn tamely back from that appeal,
And when I look within myself,
I notice with astonishment
The fire of his opal eyes,
Clear beacons glowing, living jewels,
taking my measure, steadily.

    June, we agre, your eyes ARE like jewels. Mom says she had to read a lot of Baudelaire's work when she was in college majoring in French, but she never remembers. a pretty poem like that one. Thanks for sharing.
