THE BREAKFAST CLUB

Do you have a regular morning routine?  We do, you might call it "the breakfast club", though I am the only one having beksers. We are early to bed, early to rise in our home.  I try to wake mine Mommy around 4 a.m., sometimes I am successful, other times she moans and says "not yet".  I understand those words, and so I dutifully wait, well, not always, but mostly!  One hour later ~ success, we are off to the loo. Next, a pod goes into the little Kuerig, she opens Drawer No. 3 which is My Drawer ... then she says "paws down, sweetie" cause I always stand up and get into the drawer as I'd like to make my own choice, though they all look the same to me!  Her coffee is now ready, and she is also putting my food in my bowl, I've jumped up to "my side" of the kitchen counter in anticipation, it smells so good.  "ready for beksers" she says, and I jump down.  I'm happy, she's happy at the table, with her coffee, reading the Washington Post on her phone.

Part Two of this morning routine follows ~ it takes her far longer to read the Post and have her second cup of coffee, while I finish up beksers, well, very fast!  I like to have a few cuddles and chin scritches before my morning nap, and before she gets on the laptop ... but she's not ready, so I hide out under the table, nearby so she'll see me.  Drats cats, she is so engrossed in the news, she doesn't notice.

Part Three of the routine.  I now move under her chair.  This has to work.  My tail thumps at her foot.  She glances down at me and says, "awwww".  The phone switches quickly from the Washington Post to the photo mode ... click.  It worked, it usually does.  If I give her my oh-so-cute-cat look, she can't resist.  Cuddles and chin scritches follow, a new day begins.

  3. June, are mommies need to understand we are far more important than news on the phone or in the paper. You just have to keep reminding her. That's what I do right here too. Precious

  4. We are early to bed and Mom wakes us all up around 5 every morning. The cat eats but we dogs wait for Mom to do some computer stuff and then we go for our walks and after that we finally get to eat our breakfast. Happy Monday!

  11. June you are just about too precious for words. OMCs I love that you grant one more hour sleep for the staff.
I love your routine too. I thought when I retired I would sleep past 6 but evidently when you get up at 6 or 87 years in a row it is hardwired in the brain. Anyway we get more done by rising early

  12. Our morning routine is a bit different. First, you must understand that Mom is NOT a morning person. She usually let's Dad do the morning stuff but occasionally, like today, I manage to wake her up. First thing she takes me and Syd outside to pee. Then she feeds us and gives us our pills. Next she starts the coffee and while that's going she feeds the inside birds, then the outside birds. By the time that's all done she gets her first cup of coffee and nobody better try talking to her till after her second cup. Then she turns into Mom again.

  13. We are early birds like you and your mom are, Juney. Mom feeds me while her coffee is brewing and I always get the last bite of her piece of toast.

  15. Mark's Mews: We share some morning habits. The dresser drawers are special, for the soft cloths in them. We like the underwear drawers, but the sock drawer is best. We can really scrunch down in there. And TBT doesn't mind a bit. If what he takes out is furred, that is fine with him.

Well, of course it is. We spread our loving furs over him all day long anyway. He wouldn't know what it is like to be unfurred. MOL!
