ZOOLATRY ~ THROUGH THE YEARS

Having posted here at Zoolatry now for eighteen years, there are few things that have been "a constant".  For everyone, life changes and we all change with it. Our story is no different than many others.  Beloved pets have shared our life, and left us when their time here came to a close.  We have lost dear family, we have lost good friends ~ some within the pet community we've come to know and care for over these years. But with joy we have made new friends!  We have moved from south to north, several times.  We've grown old, well ~ older, in body but hopefully not too much in spirit or mind!
Many who were part of the early days of this journey are not here to thank, but we'll say thank you nonetheless.  Without all who've been a part of Zoolatry ~ helped us become who we are, do what we do, and give us the confidence to keep going, share a kind word, reach out in friendship and support ~ we'd not be here.  So it does not matter if you stopped by eighteen years ago, or last week ... thanks, thanks so much.

The story began in Florida, and Zoolatry was home to
two little Himalayan kitties ~ Maggy and Zoey.
Chapter Two, found Zoolatry living in Maryland, after dramatic life
changes many years later.  We were with family, and the focus of Zoolatry
became our wonderful grand-pet, Dougie Dog.

In most recent years, now living elsewhere in Maryland,
little June was adopted, during the pandemic,
and together we have built a new life.

I had said there was "no constant" over our years here, but that is not quite true.  For me, photography and what I've always called "photo-art" has been a constant.  Even at the start of Zoolatry, I worked with earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop (5.0 at that time) and still prefer that program today, though it is now Creative Cloud, a much higher version and one I admittedly barely know or use 10% of!  The other "constant" for Zoolatry, was to regularly/monthly change our blog headers.  So we chose to post a series of headers here, as a way to scroll through the years ~

We've had the privilege and fun of doing "photo-art" for many other pet bloggers as well ~ headers, cards and more ~ and also creating the basic design of the current Cat Blogosphere.  And the honor of remembering our beloved pets who cross their Rainbow Bridge with our FOREVER MEMORY images.  This has been our part of the broader pet community, for which we are thankful.  It's doubtful we'll be here another eighteen years, but however many may be gifted to us, we hope to continue to share them with you.

  2. This is a beautiful post, Ann. The number of us original bloggers dwindle through the years, either because they have sadly passed on, or decided to stop blogging. I nearly stopped when we lost Flynn, but have made so many friends through him and Eric that I decided to keep going once a week.
I am glad to be able to wish you a happy 18th Blogoversary. Next month will be our 19th Blogoversary, and this time last year I didn't know if I would make it, but I'm still here and fighting, and visiting your posts every day!
You have made so many beautiful Forever badges and blog headers including all those you made for me, and I thank you again for them.
I wish you continued happy blogging!

  3. We are glad that we've met you through the blogging world. we've are just youngsters at it, having just passed the 11 year mark...
Its good to be able to share our high moments and carry the burdens of the low moments so that that burden is less for those whose burden it is.
We are like family, even though we haven't ever met! What fun it would be if we could gather in person...but that would be very difficult to do...logistically!
Thanks for sharing so many of the memories you've made over the years, and thanks for the art work you do.

(I use GIMP, and I have PS-elements, an older version, but if I would want to use it I would need to have an instructor; its that different from GIMP)

  6. I have been blogging for 16 years and I came here after Dougie was an angel, can't remember when exactly, All of these are familiar because when I came you were posting Dougie and the angel cats, beautiful post, and your headers have always been one of my most favorite things on your Worship of Animals Zoolatry.

  8. We love your blog and your creativity in photos, badges, headers and everything you do on your blog. Keeping a blog going for so many years is not always an easy task but we would feel lost if we didn't have our blog as it becomes part of life and our daily things we do. We love seeing your posts and hope to continue to see them for a long time. Our thirteen years seems like forever but time goes by fast.
