The two computers ~ out with the old, in with the new ~ sat there, doing their thing.
Lots of cords from one to t'other, shaking hands paws.
Trading secrets and silently conversing with one another in a language I would never know.
Sometimes even flashing lights at one another,
as if to say "wait a minute, do this, don't do that",
or maybe I'm just anthropomorphizing as we do with our pets all the time!
A friend, far more tech than me, had thankfully done all this magical set up on Sunday.
I doubt I'd have even known how to plug in this new big-little kitten, even
getting used to this wider keyboard, bigger monitor will be a challenge
for these old hands and eyes!
So, instead, my Monday was spent doing spring cleaning in the fall,
mostly things that never did get done back then.
Top of the list: wash June's blankies, all those used to cover protect chairs,
fill her blankie basket, so on and so forth, even a few random toys!
I replaced them temporarily with old sheets.
She sniffed at the sheets. She pawed at the sheets.
She lifted one sheet up with her claws, knowing full well "not allowed" on the naked chair beneath.
Where to go, where to sit, where to nap ...
Meow. The day bed. Why I can even
put my head on a pillow. I'm happy, meow.
How good to have a friend who could connect the two computers to do all the hard work for you. I would have to do it all manually taking days and frustration doing it.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile June blissfully sleeps through it all.
I couldn't begin to do the tech needed to change computers ... June looks so blissful and comfy!
ReplyDeleteMom does not enjoy the data transfer part of a new computer either. Thankfully we have it all backed up in the cloud as well as on a separate drive just in case we need it. After our computer suddenly died back in April Mom was thankful for all the backups. Glad at least you got to rest on Labor Day.
ReplyDeleteyour mama is a genius, bravo!!!... our mama failed even at data transfer from her phone...
ReplyDeleteJune is a happy c at, she found the comfy spot. I recently bought a new desktop with Windows 11. I kept my old keyboard and large screen monitor. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteMy partner bought me a new laptop and I need to transfer everthing from this one I am on which is from 2017, to the new one. Oh joy I need to go through it all. Amazing photo of June :-D
ReplyDeleteWe've always moved from one Mac to the next and find it easy to do the transfers, but it's been a while since we had a new one... Glad it's all in good hands.
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy that the transfer went well and that you didn't have to get frustrated doing it yourself. You are all set for fall with clean everything, Juney!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have a friend to help you ~ June is adorable with her head on the pillow ~ hugs,

I just got a new computer too. Lots of work moving all your things from one to the other.
ReplyDeleteJune is so cute.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
Like #1's comment above, we've had Macs for many years, but the office uses Lenovo and the IT folks do all of the work, but then every personalization has to be reset!

ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear your computer transfer went well. That is always a scary thing to do. June does look comfy hanging out on the bed.

Getting used to a new computer takes time but it usually worth it. A nap on the bed and pillow is the best.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, our dad is a tech guy! Boops to you June❣️❤️๐ป
ReplyDeleteYou look very content!
ReplyDeleteI can't deal with tech stuff either. You are such a cutie. XO
ReplyDeleteNew tech is always a challenge, go purr at it sweet June!
ReplyDeleteSweet Juney sure does look comfy cozy. We're glad to hear the computer transferring went well. Thank goodness for your tech-savvy friend! :)
ReplyDeleteHi June! (Marv wave wildly) Our Mom had 8 tablets that she was setting up this weekend. Mission Control has 2 laptops and the bookcase had 9 tablets...1 was Mom's and the others were for the Senior Centre...we were NOT allowed on the bookcase...so of course we all wanted to go up there. THere was much gesturing, and HBO words. We like it much better when she helps me make the badges...
ReplyDeleteWe send loads of LUCK that everything goes smoothly and your Mom can get the new one to do all (and more) than the old one! And June...I would put my head on your pillow....Keep in being awesome, Your #1 Fan Boy, Marvelous Marv
I don't trust computers who chat amongst themselves.
ReplyDeletePhew, your friend kept you out of the black hole of computer gobbledygook!
ReplyDeleteJune, you look like you found yourself the purrfect spot for your nap.
Your Mom has sure been busy, June. It's nice she took care of what you have to lay and sleep on first! It means she loves you tons and tons! XOX Xena
