Anyone remember that great show, TWTWTW ~ That Was The Week That Was ~ it aired on BBC in the United Kingdom in the early 1960s. And soon followed on US television, airing in 1964-65. Political and current events, satire and commentary, with writers and comedians who later went on to considerable fame [a/k/a notoriety] in other well known shows and venues. It also opened the doors for many of the shows we see today and the freedom of speech comedians, writers and film makers continue to have [at least for now] allowing criticism of the actions of our government and its officials.
JANUARY 4-10, 2026
CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED AS ONE HELLUVA
TWTWTW
An old song was playing on mine Mommy's speakers, "whatcha gonna do when
they come for you?" S'riously. Got me thinking.
That's happening more and more, all over. Meowz. I can at least hide, right?
And I'm allowed and free to criticize. And complain. MOL and SOL.
And I gots big sharp teethz and my claws ... well.
Guess what?
Last time mine Mommy did one of those Amazon orders, well, she
included a blue whistle for me!
I wonder if it's a blue-and-white polka dot whistle!
I have paws together that on
Sunday, January 18 I will not be looking back at this
coming week and meowzing it was another helluva TWTWTW.

Not only does Mummy remember TWTWTW, She even found episodes of it on YouTube. The BBC used to produce good programmes in those days.
ReplyDeleteJuney, We hope the new whistle is indeed blue and white polka-dots, those are Our Favourite colours.
I vaguely remember TWTWTW, and hope this week will not be another that qualifies for that title, though I have my doubts.
ReplyDeleteI remember that song, it was the theme from Bad Boys. Now it seems you don't have to be a bad boy for them to come after you.
June, you do look cute in the go bag. Take care, have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI was in elementary school in 1964-65. I do remember the name of the show - maybe from my mom and dad watching it? I will look it up on YouTube. You definitely need that whistle to be blue and white polka dots, Juney!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a very well-known show on the BBC although just a bit before #1's time. It's good to be planning ahead, June. We fear there may be even more horrendous weeks in the future.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
June, even though I'm an adult human, sometimes I wish someone ELSE would offer me a PTU and whisk me away to someplace where kindness and sanity reign.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, I'll open a book, and escape that way.
Juney what a lovely photo of you in your very stylish gray bag
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Oh, I remember that show too! Hiding is always an option sweetest June!
