CODDLE ~ not ~ CUDDLE

Recently, mine Mommy was story-telling again [which she does more often these days].
Going on about her once toddlers, having eggs at breakfast ~ usually scrambled, turning little noses
up at fried, over easy.  Hard boiled good only at lunch.  And those lovely soft boiled, she never could
get them quite right.  Until her Grandma one day gifted her two beautiful Royal Worcester egg coddlers,
with delightful classic Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit characters on them.  And with coddlers, you create
coddled eggs, nearly the same as soft boiled ~ but oh, so so much better.

Coddlers for Toddlers

Her original "coddlers for toddlers" are long lost, gone in one of her
many household moves and downsizing over years ...
until, the caring, kind person hearing the story, chose to gift her, unexpectedly,
with two beautifully floral pattered Royal Worcester egg coddlers.

Aren't they beautiful.
These are single porcelain egg coddlers. Of course, the egg that goes in for cooking
will not be in it's shell!  We She will have coddled eggs and English muffins with her favorite
triple-berry jam later this week.  Purrhaps I'll get a tiny bite?

And we are so happy and thankful to our dear friend who brought this
beautiful memory back to life, meowz.

Background image: though I cannot recall exactly if ours looked like this,
those we had back in the mid-1970s were from this Beatrix Potter collection.
