WELCOME ~ to the newly redesigned and reimagined Cat Blogosphere. Before putting our paws into sharing our news, please take a second and scroll back up to look at our header.
Above, you will see the "pet team members", all volunteers, who have put time, energy and talent over the past many weeks to bring this to you. And over there to the right ~ some special friends, who came to join today's event, we'll have more to say about each of them come this Tuesday.
This is likely to be a [quoting June who lives here], a "kinda sorta" long post, so if you don't have time to read today, it will still be here tomorrow, or save and come back please ~ because whether you are a pet blogger who posts daily, randomly or very rarely ~ you may find out some new and interesting things.
The origins of the Cat Blogosphere have been lost over time, though we can trace a first post to April 2006. Which means we are 20 years old. And early on devoted mostly to the cats among us ~ that changed quite a few years ago, as now dogs, birds, hamsters & gerbils, gardeners & cooks, and well, all those critters who share our homes are welcome here.
THE HIGHLIGHTS ~ We have an all new badge. You'll find it at the end of this post. If you already display our badge on your blog, please update with the new one. If not, please consider supporting us by doing so, thanks!
RSS FEED. Until recently, you had to add your own post link to the Cat Blogosphere [from here on we'll mostly use CB] Daily Links to share with other bloggers. Now, through the RSS feed, your posts are added automatically within at least 24 hours or less of your posting. If you check the CB, and your post does not appear, you can contact any team member, listed on the sidebar, and ask to be included. Some bloggers may not visit the CB now that posts are added in this way, and so may be missing other news of interest.
CHRYON. A breaking news chryon runs near the top of the page all the time. Any blogger can email our Editor to request important news be included here. This crawl also features news of food recalls, breaking news of disaster zones where our pet friends may live, pets who may be ill and in need of support. It is a constant, up to date source of information for you.
BLOG HOPS. The CB sidebar features a new badge for Blog Hops. There are blog hops for all days of the week, Sunday through Saturday, and open to all pet bloggers. You only need to click on their images on the main page, link over and add your post details. It's an opportunity to expand your readership and get to know more pet bloggers.
SATURDAYS WITH SIERRA. Our content manager has a regular feature column every Saturday. You can reach out to her through her email on the CB sidebar with any special news round-up information, or information for the week ahead that you'd like to see included in her column.
FOREVER. We all acknowledge, with sadness, that our pets are never with us as long as we want them to be. And it is another sad truth, that over many years of blogging we have also said farewell to many of our beautiful human friends as well. I personally began this blog in 2007, and soon after began designing FOREVER images for any loved and lost, always complimentary, and still offered to this day. Whether an image is needed for a friend you know, or for your own pet, simply send a request, a badge is on the sidebar of the CB, and we'll respond at once. MEMORIAL badges are also designed by blogger, Ingrid, and she has created her designs with affection and care for many years for all friends and pets, again complimentary. You will also find Ingrid's contact information on the CB sidebar. Feel free to reach out to either or both of us. POWER OF THE PAW, a special blog, by Cecilia, posts all images of our pets and friends loved and lost and all are posted on the Cat Blogosphere.
