There are all kinds of wonderful smells from the kitchen this morning.
And the ZH and Poppy Vic are clattering and banging pots 'n' pans, and rushing to-and-fro.
So, I asked the ZH "what's going on?" And she told me that tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day,
so I asked her to tell me what that was ...
and she said, "it is a time to be thankful for all we have in our
lives, and to share if we can with those who have less".
So, I asked her, "do I really have to be thankful for all things in my life?
There are some things I don't like at all!"
And she replied, "yes, ZoZo dear, be thankful for even those things you do not like, be
thankful for those things that are hard and difficult, or make you unhappy ... because,
little one, if you learn from those times, they are the very things
that make you stronger, and make you better."
So, I left the kitchen and went to take a little rest on my hammick. And I
thought about what the ZH said. Of course, I am very thankful
for my family, and friends, and all of you.
And for the turkey and ham that will soon fill my bowl!
But I think she is probably right about those "other things".
So, I will be thankful for Maggy ~ cause if I didn't have her,
who would I swat, whap and hiss at?
And I'll be thankful for and share my treats and foods with our
feral family, cause I really do like to sit on the window ledge
and watch them, and I feel good they are well fed and happy.
And I'll even be thankful for all the little beans who, when they come to visit,
chase me and make me hide under the bed.
While I've been thinking about what I have to be thankful for,
the thought crossed my mind ...
I wonder if I can have the wishbone?
