ZOOLATRY on ZOOLATRY

As best we can remember (which is not an easy thing for us to do), our first blog post was in late June or early July of 2007. And our blog was named ZOOLATRY & ZOANTHROPY (see our first banner up above!). According to all the dictionairies, Zoolatry is "the worship of animals" which Maggy and I both believe is most appropriate. And it is properly pronounced zoo-AHL-uh-tree. And the definition of Zoanthropy is "a mental disorder in which one believes himself to be an animal". Now we don't claim to know anyone in the Zoolatry home who believes "herself" to be an animal, except for me and Maggy who are, of course, animals. Yet, there are times when we do question the mental status of the Zoolatry Human. Anyway... I digress...
So, ZOOLATRY + ZOANTHROPY was a bit too verbose, so the latter went into a blogbin somewhere out there. And ZOOLATRY was officially born, though our Human insists on pronouncing it zoo-LAH-tree (so you can too!). And she kept the definition of zoanthrophy, just reversing it to mean "a mental disorder in which animals believe themselves to be human"... which we do not consider a disorder at all, as we are almost human, really, we are. But you see, I told you there were mental issues... she's the one who makes up words and meanings and shows photos of things we really don't do in real life! Really.

I voted for you last night (finally figured out where you were). That is a very difficult web site to work with.

  6. Wait a sec. What are humans then, if not animals? Granted I can vegitate with the best of them from time to time, but I'm pretty sure I'm still decended from apes, and not from Banyon Trees.

  9. We say it zoo-LAH-tree too! We don't care whether the humans think they are animals or the animals think they are humans, we do know that we love your blog and your gorgeous artwork.

Why ever would you WANT to be human. Terrible fate. Would not even wish that tabby brofur.
