FRIENDS FRIDAY

And so another year in the life of Zoolatry comes to a close.  It surprises us when we stop and realize we began blogging in 2007 and will soon reach 2000 postings!  It pleases us that we have made so many, very special friends over these years.  We have had the amazing opportunity to share fun and laughter, happy times, holidays and special events.  Through sad times, we have been privileged to honor those who have crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving good memories with us forever.  Though most of us speak through our pets, our beloved cats and dogs, through this we have also come to know and care deeply for many human friends.  At Zoolatry, the past year has had its share of ups-and-downs and we have been blessed by the support and kind words shared by so many of you.  For all this we are very thankful.  And our hope for each of you is a New Year that is full, healthy, happy and prosperous.  From the Zoolatry Girls, Maggy and Zoey and Ann ~ we say Happy New Year and Thank You!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It has been very, very cold in Florida and we are not used to it.
So I am thankful for a warm cozy blankie to nap on and a good furriend to share it with.

WORDLESS and WORDY

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY
 WORDY WEDNESDAY
A few words about CB auctions: Goodness Gracie does an outstanding job
managing frequent cat blogosphere auctions.  These raise funds for our furriends who
have large vet bills, or need green papers for help in other ways.
Right now, there's a fabulous auction in progress to help BRIGHTON of
Curlz and Swirlz.  You'll find lots of great items and when you place a bid, you'll
be helping those in need.  So, if you haven't done so, click below and visit today:

TUESDAY TOYS

That little rug-puppy has lots of cool toys.  I like his toys.
One of my favorites is this little rubber ball.
I saw it roll over by the fireplace, and he kind of forgot it was there.
Maybe I can grab it!  Success!
He's not so good about sharing just yet, but then
come to think of it, neither am I.
Mostly I play with his toys after he goes home.

CHRISTMAS THANK YOU

See the mistletoe, girls?  Do you know what it means?
It's time to send furry kisses 'n' warm hugs 'n' tail wags 'n' chin scritches 'n' nose taps
to all our furriends.
And to say thank you to each and every one for being our furriends,
and for being with us throughout this past year.
(now may I please have my stripey sox back?)

OH DEER

I can get carried away with holiday decorating.  Sometimes it goes to my head.

DECEMBER 21 to DECEMBER 25, 2009

December 21 became a "white" Christmas celebrating with Jasmine, Marilyn Monroew, Billie, Leopold, Djenna, Donny, Marie and Whitey.  And the next day, well, as you can see, Santa's lap was very full of wonderful kitty friends ~ wonder how many y'all can name or recognize!  For December 22 and 23, Maggy and Zoey took a little ride on Santa's sleigh and filled our Christmas wreaths with L.O.V.E.  And then it was Christmas Day, and the last window of our Advent Calendar opened to reveal the Zoolatry family: the Zoolatry Human, Ann and Poppy Vic, the much loved Great Grandma Helen who left us this past year ... son Jon and his wife Giovanna, daughter Rebecca and her husband Kaustuv.  Adorable grandchildren Isabel and Ethan and new baby, Arjun.  And the family pets, kitties and woofies, Maggy and Zoey, Willow and Dio.  All wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

DECEMBER 17 to DECEMBER 20, 2009

This day opened with Maggy and Zoey having one of their usual discussions about "being good" for Christmas.  And on December 18 we took a moment to honor all creatures great and small, including Quincy and Samuel.  The next days window opened onto lots of fluffy, furry, fabulous Christmas floof with the names of Sweet Praline, Ginger Jasper, Romeo and Bhu.  And December 20, the window was full of ten amazing woofies we know and love: Merci, Maverick, Benny, Khyra, Phantom, Titus, Mitch, Freyja, Ben and itty bitty Cocorue.  Woof, woof everyone!

DECEMBER 13 to DECEMBER 16, 2009

Sunday, December 13, Willow told us that our very special Christmas gift had arrived, and the next day we proudly showed his first photo, welcoming JuneyBug.  Now one-year old, he has been a joy each day of this past year (and you've often seen him on Zoolatry, sometimes at play with Maggy and Zoey).  December 15, guess who popped out from the window (and from gift boxes) ~ the cuddly and cute, Dory and Bilbo.  And the next day we featured a very special friend beside Father Christmas, the wonderful Fat Eric.  Fat Eric has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge, he was one of a kind.

December 15, 2010

DECEMBER 9 to DECEMBER 12, 2009

For December 9, we opened a window onto our own special memories, our woofies Chessie and Brandy, and our sweet feral family of Annie, Bravo, Charlie and Delta, we remember them all.  And the next day featured Maggy, the talker and yakker and operatic singer of  Zoolatry.  December 11 ~ well, it might be self explanatory, the entire Zoolatry family was "still waiting" for a very special Christmas present.  And who could that be in the next window?  It's Milo and Alfie, from the UK and they and their humans are friends we just love, love, love.

DECEMBER 5 to DECEMBER 8, 2009

On December 5, Zoey donned her elf cap and made some of her usual complaints about "why she was no longer" the feature on the ZH's desktop.  And on December 6, we traveled half-way around the world to the Land of Oz to show many good friends from "down under".  Some no longer blog, and some have now crossed the rainbow bridge, but we treasure them all.  Last year we also made Christmas Memories ornaments for friends who had traveled beyond our sight, here we honored just a few of them, Princess Dakota, Floyd and the beloved Skeeter.  And then came the fun bunch, long time blogger friends of ours, the Taylor CatSSSSS

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

the first four days of our 2009 Advent Calendar.

DECEMBER 1 to DECEMBER 4, 2009

The month began with some super special stocking stuffers: Eric and Flynn.  And who better to play the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, than our own Cheysuli.  The next day saw us visiting the ever beautiful StellaAnd then came The Grey Boys ~ Gandalf, Grayson and Whitey.  We knew it would be a fun month with friends like these.

THE ADVENT CALENDAR

Last year, Zoolatry designed an Advent Calendar to post each day throughout the month of December.  Each day we opened a new window to reveal good friends, or family, or special memories.  It was a major photoshop project for the ZH to create this calendar, but she thoroughly enjoyed working on it.  We wanted very much to do a new calendar for this year, but were not able to. So, throughout this week, we will take a look back the days from our 2009 Advent Calendar.  Please join us, this Monday through Saturday, as we re-open the windows and once again visit with friends, family and special memories.  Merry Christmas to all.

HANGIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE

So, the ZH and Poppy bought this "little mini tree",  it's just about three-paws tall!
I heard them say if they put it up top the entertainment center in the furfambly room,
maybe us kids 'n' kits wouldn't mess around with it.  Little do they know!
Now it's been decorated with some of the bear ornaments the humans
have collected for years... and here's me 'n' Mags 'n' JuneyBug
all checking out "our tree".  I am thinking after the humans go to bed
for the night, I can get a closer look, maybe a smell, maybe a taste... oh,
and maybe some of those ornaments, those bears look very interesting.....

OUR SALON and SPA DAY

If you recall, Tuesday was the "big day" around here ~ also called "Terrible Tuesday".  Our day at the salon and spa.  Well, friends, here's how it all came down (or came off, as the case may be).  Let's start with the bottom photo: that's Maggy.  As you can see, she looks about the same as before.  Why?  Cause the Mags was a bad girl, I mean, really, really B.A.D.  Yes, she gots her nails clipped, and yes, the very nice lady groomer was able to get rid of her tummy mats.  But the rest, furget it.  She whined and hissed and growled and moaned and scratched and clawed!  Even with the groomers assistant trying to hold and caress her, Mags wasn't having any part of a spa treatment.  Not today...
On the other paw, I was as good as gold.  I got "the works", even came home with a little jingle-bell bow on my head!  Tummy mats all gone, nails nicely done... a sweet little poodle-like trim all over, my ears got cleaned, and I got a bath!  Oh how I loved my bath and the ZH & Poppy say I smell sweeter than peaches 'n' cream!  No lump of coal in my Christmas stocking.  I expect lots of treats for my good behavior.  I want an A+ and a Gold Star.
Maggy, well, she'll get that lump of coal.  You know she's usually quiet in her little travel kennel, but she even screamed all the way home in the car!  So much for Mag's Salon and Spa Day.  I enjoyed mine!

Here's a little pic of Zo about 2-years ago when she had to have a
major, major shavedown.  Had to be done by a vet, under anesthesia!
Am so glad we didn't have to go that far this time around...
poor nekked babee!

A FEW WEDNESDAY WORDS

Tree ornament.  One of a kind.

TERRIBLE TUESDAY

I'm thinking of getting a perm for the holidays.  What do you think?
____________________________________
Poor ZoZo, she doesn't know it yet, but it's off to the groomer this morning.  Maggy, too.
And I don't think a holiday perm is on the agenda.
Zoey's tummy mats are so, so, sooooooo bad ~ it's pawsible she'll have to get a lion-cut.
Yikes!  The ZH really does not like lion-cuts.  She'd prefer something maybe like
a poodle cut.  We'll see.  Maggy's not in such great shape either.  I can always
tell when they are "overdue" as the fluff 'n' furballs all 'round the house seem to
multiply hourly.  And the ZH freely admits she has not been very good about regular
brushing lately, sigh.  I think I'll collect up and save all the furs today,
maybe Peggy can use them for one of her hairy-blankies.

PHOTO HUNT: HARD-TO-FIND

Christmas morning 2009 ~ at least I think it is probably 2009!
Could be almost any Christmas morning.
It's HARD-TO-FIND much of anything in the aftermath of opening gifts.
Wait a minute, I see some big-boy feet, and also some little-boy feet...
and over there are my stripey-sox... and wait,
wait another minute, do I see a kitty hiding out...
waiting to lay claim to the ribbons 'n' bows 'n' tissue paper?
She was not HARD-TO-FIND!

FUNNY PICTURE FRIDAY

If Maggy thinks she's gonna sneak up on me, oh boy is she gonna be surprised.

THURSDAY THIRTEEN

By the way: the ZH says there are only 12 months in the year,
not 13 -- but if you'd like a "sneak preview" of the "coming soon"

AND SO IT BEGINS ...

So ~ you tell me ~ are we going to make it to December 25?
 With packages still wrapped?
With ribbons not shredded?
With the tree still standing?
With its ornaments not broken?
With stockings still hung by the chimney with care?
I, for one, have my doubts.
The beautiful holiday frame for Zoey's photo was designed and created by our
own Mosaic Lady ~ you can see more of her work at her
website, just click here.
If you're looking for something special, for yourself, or gifting...
maybe this "is it"... more frames below,
