THE CAT BLOGOSPHERE [AND DOGS, TOO!]

Today officially ends our month-long review of old postings.  We weren't sure how to bring it to a close, wanting to show "lots of  friends" so this is what we came up with!  In 2010 (when there were far less pet bloggers than now!) we volunteered to design the Cat Blogosphere Calendar for 2011.  In all, maybe around 400 cats and dogs took part.  I freely admit it was both a pleasure and a chore!  A pleasure in that I had the chance to meet and get to know lots of new bloggers, and a "chore" only in that I did not allow myself enough "time" to work on what was a more time-intensive project than I ever imagined.

All the pages are shown above, except January, which was shown earlier this month, CLICK HERE.

Because these images are smaller, I'd like to take the time to repeat the acknowledgements as noted on the last page, the month of December 2011.

To the owners to The Cat Blogosphere ~ all of you!  Hundreds of paws up and tail wags for sharing the photos of your beloved, amazing, charming and amusing cats and dogs.  Without you, there would be no Cat Blogosphere.

To our Chief Feline Officer, the very special ML Giggleman, of Missy, KC and Bear.  ML works tirelessly (with assistance from KC) each day of the year to keep The Cat Blogosphere up and running for all of us.

To Jan Price, of Jan's Funny  Farm, the Meowing Manager, the feline-fantastic who quietly works behind the scenes to make sures all your news is fit to paw-print.  Purrs to our Jan!

To Robyn Harton, now happily retired at the House of the Mostly Black Cats.  Robyn, often assisted by Sanjee, was the original founder of The Cat Blogosphere.  [2013 update: Robyn's vision and foresight allowed us to reach out to and connect with one another long before social media became the big thing.]

To the Society of Feline Gardeners who provided the beautiful background photography for each month of the year.  Jan, The Cat's Meow.  Kim, Fuzzy Tales.  Lori, Cory Cat Blog.  Sandra, Alasandra, The Cats and the Dogs.  And Mark, Mark's Mews who gave the inspiration for the January Rainbow Bridge page in honor of those loved and lost.

Calendar designed by Ann of Zoolatry, dedicated to my Mom, who passed away during the design of this calendar was in progress.  The Cat Blogosphere 2010/2011 (c)

April 30, 2013 ~ In the years since, many of our beloved cats and dogs featured on this calendar have crossed their own Rainbow Bridge, we remember and cherish them all.  Many family and friends have left us, but remain in our hearts.  Many friends no longer have active blogs ~ we miss them.  Many others are new to the pet blogging community, we welcome them.  It is truly a warm community of people with a common love of creatures great and small who extend to one another a hand of friendship in times both good and not so good.  We are blessed to have one another.

  3. We have that calendar. That was a big job for that Mom. But it was tons of fun seeing all the pictures of everyone and we have enjoyed hearing all about the original bloggers. Take care.

  4. We have it too, it was great. We were all in it too, angels Annie and Chumley and of course us.

It's amazing, though, how much larger the CB has grown in just a couple of years.

  7. The calendar was a HUGE undertaking and you did a terrific job on it. It is so sad to look at our bookmarks and remember those who went to the bridge and those who stopped blogging. They are missed.
