THANKFUL THURSDAY Blog Hop

You know, Zoey, less than a week from now, we'll be leaving the Sunshine State behind and heading north.  I think there are many things we're going to miss.  Like swaying palm trees and ocean breezes, what will you miss?  I'm going to miss the gecko's and lizards and the fat frogs that stick to the windows.  Me, too ~ but not the hurricanes, or the jellyfish or occasional shark at the beach!  No, not those, but maybe the pretty ibis and egret and spoonbills.  Yes, and the beautiful tropical flowers everywhere.  Lots of warm sunshine and rivers and streams and ponds and lakes, and of course, the ocean.  The ZH says there are twenty-years of memories here, but she says she'll take those along with her, packed in her heart.  Two college graduations, and later two marriages.  Then three little grandbeans followed.  And Grandma came to live with us for awhile, then she left for heaven.  Friends and family, old and new, came and went.  Twenty years is a long time, yet only a passing moment it seems.  Whatever times past brought into our lives, for all of it, we are thankful.

And last fall, our dear Poppy Vic left us. He said it was his time to move on, but we couldn't go with him.  Last week the ZH and family scattered some of Poppy's ashes at a special place, a favorite place of his along the waterfront.  So a little part of him will always be here in a place he so loved.  It made us all sad and happy at the same time.  More memories.

Now soon, we'll be moving on, to a new place, a new adventure, a new chapter in our lives.  We'll be around for a few more days, but then Zoolatry will have to get "packed up" for a little while when moving truck arrives next week.

You know this is a "favorite" window of ours, but we think we'll be able to find another "favorite" window really soon . . . just a window with a little bit different view of life.

  15. Awww bless your little hearts. It's sad saying goodbye to a home where there are so many memories. But now you will have a whole new world to explore, and that will be fun. It will be rough on your human tho, so give her lots of loves, purrs, and kitty kisses. We'll be thinking of you and saying a few prayers for you.

  21. It sounds like a chapter in a life well lived; replete with highs and lows. We know it will be challenging to say good-bye to Vic's favourite place and to your dear memories but thankfully your heart is large enough to carry both your memories and Vic with you , Ann. And, there will still be enough room for new memories and new joys in your new Northern home.
Safe travels, friend.Continue to move forward on your brave path.We will be with you in spirit.

    All our love.
