THANKFUL for MOTHER NATURE

Yesterday, getting out of the car, early morning ~ oops, I almost stepped on some little thing in the grass.  But on second glance I see a baby bunny, no more than four-inches in size.   Scared?  Hungry?  Thirsty?  Abandoned?  Throughout the day, I check on her, visit her and though I know she is breathing, she does not move.  Mid-day I put water, shaved carrots and shredded lettuce near her, still she does not move.  I think it is time to call the Nature Center and see what I should do ... but I go out one more time, and she has moved, though she is now under my car, just behind the wheel!  And I must leave soon to pick up my grandson from pre school.  Talking to her, clicking my fingers, offering more food ~ all to no avail ~ she does not move.  I tease her again with tossing some carrots her way.  Finally I roll a soft toy ball under the car, it rolls past her and away she hops, across the yard and toward the house. Camouflaging herself in mulch up against the foundation.  I hope she will stay there so I can show her to my grandson when we get home.  Alas, she is not there ~ I hope she has hopped off to find her bunny mom, or will somehow make it on her own.  That will be up to Mother Nature. I am thankful to have had some time to enjoy her.

  6. We hope this little one makes her way, too! Hard to say if she's on his own or waiting for Momma.

  7. We are pretty sure that either the MOM is around and watching out fur the baby.... OR it is already big enough to take care of itself.... BEAUTIFUL pics of it....

  8. Awww bless it's little heart, and bless you for trying to take care of it. Hopefully bunny has figured things out on her own, or maybe mom came back. I know bunnies do sometimes have their babies laying right in the middle of a yard with no protection from anything. Hopefully bunny will be okay now.
