OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE ~ WILLOW

Most who come to Zoolatry know I live with my daughter and son-in-law and kindergarten-grandson ~ and our family dog, dear old Willow.  She was around ten years old, a beagle mix hound and a rescue dog, originally from the Tampa Bay area of Florida.  Yet, though born and raised midst sunshine and palm trees, she happily took to the falling leaves and snowfalls of the metro DC area when the family moved north a few years ago.  A few aches and pains of aging, but in good health.  A bit grumpy sometimes (there's that aging thing again!  I personally know it well!) but so much loved by her family ... Willow, usually called "Bubs" was by and large my daughters dog, always at her side, waiting at the door for her to come home from work, trailing her every movement throughout the house, her shadow.  Yesterday afternoon, without warning, Willow suffered a massive seizure, perhaps a stroke and was gone within a few short hours.  Efforts to revive her, to bring her back to her loving family were not successful.  Willow, may you rest in peace and run free forever.

  3. Ann, my deepest sympathies to you all. That she had a wonderful life with your family is little comfort right now. I have to say that in spite of the shock, I feel it was a blessing she passed so quickly, without a long and lingering illness. May you all find peace knowing she passed from love into Love.

Hugs from me and purrs from the boys.

  7. Dear Willow,

You showed your family what love from a loving and innocent heart is. And you showed that with your every breath and your every thought as you lived your life with your family who loved you just as much as you loved them. May we all learn from you how simple and uncomplicated love is. Run free sweet girl.

To the family; my sincere condolences. The hole left in your lives will always be felt but you will have the sweet memories that Willow provided to carry you through to the sunshine again.
